Oddball Cheap (stand-alone) Ships?

By theBitterFig, in X-Wing

Some other fun ones:

Double Edge with Unguided Rockets and Saturation Salvo.

Nu with Harpoons and LRS.

Scarif Defender with LWF.

OGP.

Tomax Bren with LWF, Crack Shot, and Unguided Rockets.

Fel's Wrath.

Basically any unique TIE Fighter or TIE FO pilot.

I assume the generic TIE Reaper should be on this list as well.

Countdown. Point him at something really punishing and rush it.

Omega leader + Adavanced Optics + A score to settle. 23 points of annoying.

Wampa + Targeting computer. 16 points of annoying.

Captain rex + title + tactician. 17 points of annoying.

Why Munitions Failsafe?

EDIT: NVM misread the thread

Oh wait.

Didn't notice that!

Inaldra + Light Scyk + Determination. for 14 pts. When you draw a damage card, you have a roughly 1/4 chance (chance changes depending on what damage cards have been drawn) to discard any hull damage. Obviously not reliable, but you could end up with the miracle "11 HP" M3-A with that. Determination Light Scyk Genesis Red or Serissu could be fun too.

(Edit: And if you were a dirty cheater, you could also stack the top of the deck with Pilot damage cards and bring a Determination Light Scyk that is guaranteed to take 11 hits to kill)

Just thought of something else that's got some oddball potential:

Loth-wolf Ezra: Sheathipede with R2-F2(!), Lone Wolf, Experimental Interface. Yeah... not that cheap anymore, as it's 25 points before crew. But a 3 agility ship with Lone Wolf and Ezra's ability is probably surprisingly hard. Finn would add a bit more offense to the pea-shooter this thing has, but at 30 points you could easily get a real ship.

Ezra build for crazy defense:

elusiveness

M9-g8

Bhodi rook (or go for Weapons engineer)

reroll up to two att dice on ships attacking you, change those eye balls to evades. Or use M9 to help out other friendlies as support.

add Pulse Ray shields for regen when the occasional shot does get thru. Or SD for one point more if you think it will save you from more hits than the shields you might regen over a game. Really you could just go mod-less to save points.

yeah, this is really just tanky support, no real offense, but it should stick around. If you got another hard hitting ship then you can give it a reroll and an action without compromising on defense. not bad

Intel agent is great on a jakku gunrunner with the tractor mod.

Knowing what someone's dial is could make the difference between a ps11 5 dice attack or a ps11 dummy stuck on a rock ;)

I just recently started trying this build in a list with Ketsu and Guri and didn't have the points for IA at the time. I have since dropped Guri for Thweek so I now have the points. Already planning on trying it.

I'm partial to Ezra in the Attack Shuttle with Rage and Inspiring Recruit.

The stress activates Ezra's ability, and you have double mods on your attack. It's a bargain at 22 points. He does die easily to 3+ attack dice, so there's that.

Oh, and Major Rhymer with Snap Shot and Tactician. (Plus Intelligence Agent & Lightweight frame if you have the points.) It is getting into mid expensive range, but it can be a nasty little thing.

Omega Ace, Trick Shot, Advanced Optics

22 points for 3-4 crits.

Turr Phennir, Snap Shot, Autothrusters

29 points for the most unpredictable interceptor.

Jake Farrel, Intensity, Veteran Instincts, Autothrusters, Title/Chardans

27 for probably the longest nested action chain in the game.

AP-5, Inspiring Recruit, R2 Astromech, Pulsed Ray Shields

19 points for a stress eating advanced sensor upgrade.

I was going to suggest almost the very same AP-5 and Jake Farrel builds. I like Snap Shot and Turr Phennir, but I had never thought of putting those 2 together. Good build.
