Oddball Cheap (stand-alone) Ships?

Playing around in a list builder looking for interesting things, I came up with this:

Zeta Ace (the 2-length barrel roll guy!) with Lone Wolf and Advanced Optics. That's almost like a mini LW Dash with Rey crew. Not really, but still ;) . 22 points is an interesting number, since it could be a Harpoon/LRS Nu, which is probably better, but this is a more ace-like ship, and that might appeal. Like in a Vader/QD list which swaps missiles for Predator and Expertise respectively, to get more passive dice mods.

Anyhow, seemed like a good time to have a light thread of interesting little filler ships that are off the beaten path.

It's actually Zeta Ace that can do the 2 barrel roll. I like him with Threat Tracker.

Attack Shuttle Sabine with PTL, Kanan, and TLT. Go places, do things.

TIE Sabine with Title, PTL, and Cloaking device. Most possible end-of-activation positions in the game, as far as I'm aware.

I like Sabine :P

I like N'dru with chimps, LW, clusters and glitstim. It's a little steep at 25 points, but he's gonna put some hurt on, and if you keep him away from the rest of your squad, he might even continue to be a nuisance for a while.

(Change the Cloaking Device for the something else and keep the cloak token on the ship.)

Might have to steal that Palob build. Same points as a mindlink Inaldra I have in a build with Kath and Thweek.

For 2 extra points put Pulsed Shields on it.

Replace Cloaking Device with feedback array and zap and regen!

I still like Blount with Advanced Homers. 20 points and you have a range 2 no go zone unless someone likes face up cards. Also trick shot for after ordnance.

I like Zeta Leader with Wired for 21 points. Fits great into a swarm or a 3-4 ship list.

And was also tweaking my build for ion discharger, although that feedback array idea sounds a bit better.

Edit: after a re-read of the faq, no feedback array.

I like him too, but I've been toying with the idea of throwing on Primed Thrusters as well the next time I fly him. I know the whole idea is that you want to shed stress so you can keep getting +1 attack, but it seems like I get blocked out of greens at some point every **** time I fly him, and I inevitably end up wishing he could at least reposition.

Those were my thoughts at first as well, but it was FAQed that you cannot use the Feedback Array with a cloak token or weapons disabled token.

i always like putting the Blaster Turret on Palob and fueling it with a focus from the ship you are shooting! Just feels satisfying.

how about Mauler Mithel VI Targeting computer? 20 points, 4 red dice at range one, PS10, not too bad.

Double Edge with Salvo Sat and Unguided rockets, 22 pts of hate for low agility ships and their Coordinating escorts

Oops, I forgot Howler was ps 8, not mauler

well, yeah synced is good for keeping him(?) cheap, but if you keep piling on points like that you’ll end up with LWF or something to try and keep the ship on the board and might miss out on other parts of your list. But yeah aiming for something in arc, missing, splashing damage and then shooting something out of arc all on the same turn is awesome.

TIE Strikers can be very good annoyances and deliver a good punch if left alone for too long.

Pilots Against Drunk Dogfighting.

Sunny Bounder, either as a 12-point filler with Light Scyk, or an 18-point filler with Heavy Scyk & Linked Battery.

Quinn Jast w/ Deadeye, Heavy Scyk, GC, and your choice of missile/torpedo.

I'm a huge fan of Kaato Leachos with deadeye, cruise missiles, and chips for 19 points.

His ability combined with deadeye means you'll almost always get his missile off (barring an unfortunate death), though you can help alleviate that by passing him an evade to go with his focus action.

Plus his ability works great with cruise missile as well. You can 4 straight behind your other ships to intentionally bump. You keep out of potentially being at range 1 of the enemy ships, and then you steal a focus to fire.

I've had fun with Deathfire w/Cluster Mines + Extra Munitions = 23 pts. Add a Lightweight Frame if you can spare the points. The ability to drop mines before you move - or move, then barrel roll, then drop mines gives you a ton of flexibility.

2nd to Zeta Leader w/Wired + Primed Thrusters.

Jakku Gunrunner w/spacetug tractor + pattern analyzer is really fun.

A nice filler I recently discovered is a Binayre Pirate with EMP Device. 14pts for one turn of chaos.

Absolute absurdity. It's delightful.

I quite like Mauler, Scourge or Backstabber with Snap Shot.

TIE Advanced generics with Accuracy Corrector

Zeta Specialist with Lightweight Frame, Accuracy Corrector and title (although at 28 points it’s pushing the “filler” status a bit I think!)

Omega Ace, Trick Shot, Advanced Optics

22 points for 3-4 crits.

Turr Phennir, Snap Shot, Autothrusters

29 points for the most unpredictable interceptor.

Jake Farrel, Intensity, Veteran Instincts, Autothrusters, Title/Chardans

27 for probably the longest nested action chain in the game.

AP-5, Inspiring Recruit, R2 Astromech, Pulsed Ray Shields

19 points for a stress eating advanced sensor upgrade.
