Just wondering if anyone was planning to use legion models for imperial assault. There’s not really any reason not too, since terrain is 2d there aren’t any line of sight issues and since the boxes come with the card there isn’t any issue there.
Anyone planning to use Legion Minis
id not considered it to be honest. IA has a better variety of minis at the minute (not including the heavy weapons etc) although the different poses would add a bit of variety to the game
I think it would make the elites stand out
How dare you mention that-which-shall-not-be-named! ?
But yeah, that Vader looks really sweet. It depends on the base size, but I’d definitley throw him on the board, rotating his outstretched arm toward whomever I force choked. ?

It just depends on if I can fit them on smaller bases. If it won't be a problem I might use them for alternate IA figures. It just depends but I won't be playing legion.
I'm waiting for some pics of the stormies side by side.
Width of the base should still fit in box, so there shouldn’t be a need to rebase them.
I definitely read this as "Lego minis" for far further in the thread than I should have (totally thought @ryanjamal had a vendetta against Lego).
Meh, I'm torn on it. Some of the figures do look pretty neat, and I wouldn't mind using the AT-ST if its base was the same (I doubt it is).
Vader also has a cool pose and I wouldn't mind him being slightly larger than scale, but that hardly justifies the $70+ price point.

Ha ha, my son is 5, so I already have a hard enough battle keeping him from wanting to always play with my Star Wars game figures (which is sometimes okay, but there have been mishaps), but if I start importing LEGO minis into the game I’d lose that battle for sure ?

I use some Wizards of the Coast minis to add variety. Juno Eclipse often appears as one of my Rebel Saboteurs. And Dash Rendar sets the eRebel Smuggler apart from the regular units.
I think you'll find that the reverse will be true. People will use the IA miniatures, buy the dice kit, ruler set, download the two guides... the whole game for a fraction of the cost of buying new. Particularly for friendlies and the first 6 months -- (will it last more than a year with only two factions? don't mention Armada - completely different fish)
Think about it really, 25 to 28mm vs 32 to 35mm? the difference is minute and disappears completely once the range ruler is laid down. Obviously, there are no bikes or funny walker things, but if you're jones-ing then you might as well buy it.
Lord of the rings started with two factions, they are still around. And before you say it wasn’t successful, while the movies were out it drastically out sold Warhammer fantasy.
Hmmm. If I find a forgotten copy of the game on the corner of a street I might. Otherwise, I can't justify buying a +100$ game (in canada) just to use the minis for another game.

Agreed. I'm hoping to find some dude in Scarborough who bought it on a whim after seeing all of the articles on FFG. Fingers crossed that he has a Sorastro fetish and painted all of the minis before he found out how crappy the game was.

A month ago I would have scratched my head about that sentence. Today I laugh about how true this is lol! I want to paint my Emperor Palpatine mini but it appears Sorastro did not paint it yet. I'm screwed!!
I am planning on purchasing the general veers pack of legion just to have that figure plus a set of snowtroopers to make a diorama which would be awesome to do. Something different for myself. I am going to test them on some 25mm bases to see if it would work. If it does and not cause a close quarter problem. It might be of interest for alterative poses for them. If it won't work then they will be used for the dioramas I have planned. I won't be purchasing the core set because I have no interest in playing legion.
Currently, the only model I'm thinking about picking up from Legion is the Snowspeeder, as that thing is cool.
I would like to see an IA version of the little Rebel walker thing, though, as that seems like it would make an interesting new choice for the Rebellion.
If Vader comes in a single-blister I'd do it.

Is Vader OK as well?

That's a negligible difference when you raise the IA base to the Legion base. Also Sorastro told me on YouTube there is roughly a 4mm difference in Stormtroopers, but I don't know if he was comparing them this way, or with both bases flat on the table.
Edited by RikaloniusIt could easily be said that a good chunk of the difference in height there is due to the stance - IA Vader has quite the knee-bend going on from his pose, while Legion Vader is standing tall.
Wow Vaders are really close in scale. Definitely finding some washers to lift my IA minis
There is quite a difference in other figures though. Search the Luke comparison and Stormtrooper pictures
And do you need more Stormtrooper models? I have too many as it is and don't use the ones i have

Here is the Stormtroopers, but their bases are not leveled, but they look way different size.
