FFG had before the "Golden Rule" that an effect with the word "cannot" trumps an opposing effect.
With that in mind Comms Jammer trumps Battle meditation ... which i find thematically ridiculous, but hey, it's a game.
Thoughts?

The golden rule will likely be on the first page of the RRG, which has not been released yet. You'll have to wait to get the answer.

Thematic considerations aside, I'm OK with an expensive card (15 points) trumping a less expensive card (10 points).
As thematically ridiculous as the lightsaber scope. But thematically ridiculous is very Star Wars, which is a crude mixture of "Battle for Midway", samurai flick, Leni Riefenstahl and kitten video.
I’m okay with com jammer blocking force meditation

100%. Gameplay > theme.

Just think of it as a medium to high powered noise jammer (i.e. raw power with little to no modulation) that causes Luke's or Vader's comm system to suffer from a high volume audio feedback the doesn't allow them to "meditate" on the battle at hand. ![]()
There also might be a General rule that the force trumps everything. “Don’t be too proud of this technological terror you’ve constructed, the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the force!”
Could we at least get the rules before we make a suggestion that we need to get a FAQ to answer a question that may be answered in the rules? ![]()

The effects aren’t contradictory.
BM let’s you issue orders when the unit is out of range. CJ just blanket prevents order issuing to units near the jammer.
Both work exactly as they say, BM does nothing more than giving unlimited range for one order.

Heck, it doesn’t even necessarily have to feedback to Luke/Vader. It could be distracting enough to the unit that they are unable to “listen to their feelings” and receive the order.
Side note: I don’t think about order range restrictions as just about who can “hear” the commander. It also has to do with the portion of the battlefield the commander can reasonably perceive/comprehend and react to.

I like that rule. Lol. That seems fair. Especially since the force users in this game so far are the most expensive and powerful units.
Well, the RRG solves this
"If a card effect uses the word “cannot,” that effect is absolute and cannot be overridden by other game effects."
