My armada table project.

By Sugardog1, in Star Wars: Armada Painting and Modification

Wanted to show everyone an update on my table project. It's nearly complete, I have a couple of areas to fix the epoxy on the surface, then epoxy the wood top and sides wait 3 days for a full cure and it's complete.

Shiny. The Emperor will be pleased.

I think it needs cup holders. ;)

Looks amazing! I love the colours.

I have plans for that down the road actually ???. Also, and I'm not joking, built in 20 track pushbutton sound loaded with the soundtrack to star wars, to give each game a personalized soundtrack. (mainly because I have the stuff for it just laying around)

Impressive. Most Impressive

Is that coffee table height?

Next, sketch up a matching sideboard to hold all the components like cards.

So when are you going to drill all of those stars and add some fiber optics to light them up?

2.5 ft, building a Lego table top for my kids here soon. It's way bigger than a coffee table, roughly 4'2" by 6'2"

Built in the table already. I'll post pics.

Hadn't thought of that... may have to see what it would take to do that. Probably not a lot.

Here's the full build so far https://photos.app.goo.gl/3ohU9mKm5z2gBr7R2

The first game we played on it was an 800 pt game which is what is pictured. In a couple weeks i'll be sanding the surface down and adding markers for x-wing. May also add the Jedi code on the blue side and the Sith code on the red side. Then I'll put on the final layer of epoxy.

How long did it take you to learn how to do that? I've seen those space scene making rattle can type videos on social media before, always thought it would be cool to try.

Recon00 it took about 10 hours of painting over the course of a week to figure out what worked and what didn't. this was the first thing like this I've ever built or painted.

Looks very nice, I like the paint scheme, I always wanted to have my own table but I don't have the space.

The only comment I have is, I wish you had a more shallow edge. It would be better to lean on board or see the game mat while sitting down on that comfortable couch.
