Ketsu List

I normally fly Ketsu with Fenn Rau, but I thought I'd mix it up a bit by dropping a StarViper in Rau's place. Also curious to see if Maul would make a good companion for Ketsu. I usually take K4 Security Droid.

Long story short, if you're not using him anywhere else, Dengar is Ketsu's best crew, it opens your dial since you dont care about greens or stress, and it gives pretty much the same effect. I especially love combining it with expertise, it makes Ketsu a powerhouse of damage. Maul allows you to reroll as many dice as you want and allows you to lose stress after a 5k, but honestly I don't see the advantages over Dengar or K4. Also I'd consider changing Crack Shot to VI or Deadeye to easier fire your harpoons. Just out of curiosity what list do you use with Ketsu and Fenn? They are two of my favorite pilots.

Yeah, Deadeye is the right call. I made that switch shortly after posting.

I don’t have Dengar so I’ve always stuck to K4. I know I could proxy him, but I just haven’t with it. I like Maul over K4 because it’s not 100% dependent on a green maneuver and it can’t be blocked by Rebel Fenn or Countermeasures. Adds a little more flexibility.

As for my Ketsu/Fenn list, it’s almost the same as above. Just remove Thweek for a Fearlessness, title, Autothrusters Fenn.

I have flown Ketsu with Bossk, and had the Fearlessness EPT on Ketsu. With small based ships, aces like Quickdraw, you can set Ketsu up for the block and get her ability to trigger, tractor your opponent wherever fits, than light them up. If your running Fenn, VI needs to stay, but if you Thweek and Kaa'to, definitely consider Fearlessness.

And I agree with Dante about Dengar. Consider getting the jump to get access to Dengar. He's a beast.

Yeah, you should really proxy/get Dengar. So good, especially on Ketsu, especially with Expertise, and ESPECIALLY against Rebel Fenn. You could ditch Inertial Dampeners to get that, leaving the rest of the list the same.

However, I wouldn't use Kaato - who will he steal from that you don't want to have their own token?

Kaato is there for Crack Shot/deadeye. I suppose I don’t mind spending three points to access the EPT slot. And the PS5 moves after Generics and Rho’s.

Just keep in mind that hot shot copilot can shut down your deadeye.

Points that have been made and some that haven't.

Fearlessness-GREAT ON KETSU. different styles of play clearly, but I've loved it, and it's won me games before.

Gyro-Not so great on Ketsu, his power comes from the forward double arc (yes i know it's possible to trigger on the edges, but no.) He gets a much better benefit from Engine Upgrade, especially if you're using expertise/dengar.

K-4 remains the choice if you're using fearlessness. With soo many rebel stress dishers, a 1-2 with Dengar doesn't cut it on a 4-5 dice roll. Yes Poe is a pain, but I've found that is a much smaller issue than not having enough re-rolls especially if you can tractor someone into a 5 dice attack. Also with all the alpha no name strikers out there, Dengar doesn't cut it against them and needs the extra

Expertise- I've run expertise/vs a VI one, as well as Expertise vs a PTL one. Both situations I found Expertise to be inferior.

If you're not a fan of Engine Upgrade, Countermeasures is my strong second (for Ketsu, my number 1 for Asajj) especially if used in conjunction with a glitterstim. third is Gyro.

so combo's I stand by. If you're Gyro'ing, I tend to hold to K-4 since you like most of those movements together.

Expertise is not my favorite, but if you use it, Dengar is the way to go.

PTL, Glitterstim and Countermeasures tank them up, especially if you add scavenger crane.

Use VI/adaptability only based on the ships you're pairing with. If you could possibly tractor someone before you others shoot, otherwise you're competing in the PS Meta you're losing in already, so move it around your ships, and not so much about others.

Long story short, Ketsu is great because he's very flexible, but I'd pick the pairing that works best with your other ships. If you're prepping him for long game, Dengar/glitter/countermeasures/PTL/scavenger crane is the way to go. If you're calculating on hard first strikes, then I'd go stronger Fearlessness/EU/K-4/2x glitterstim

Of course title needs to be on all of them. that's a no brainer.

Oh yeah, I also meant to say that this list gives me the perfect excuse to break out the EU and Ketsu Alt Art cards. :D
