FFG products not available any longer on Amazon

By Carahue, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

WHFRPG products - unavailable

Dark Heresy products - unavailable

Rogue Trader Products - unavailable

And the list goes on...

What's going on?

Thay all seem to be available on amazon uk, for the record.

Wow. Might mean I'll have to order Gathering Storm and the GM's Toolkit through Amazon.ca, unless they disappear there as well.

It certainly will make me think twice about ordering additional products just because of the massive price jump ordering directly from FFG.

Why do you even bother with Amazon? There are lots of small sites that offer better price and cheaper shipping than Amazon.

I just went to Amazon and looked and I see plenty of WFRP 3e stuff (Core set, toolkit) available, as well as Dark Heresy books, etc.

I'm not sure what you were looking at, but you seem to be mistaken.lengua.gif

They're available, but only via third-party sellers.

I noticed this yesterday when updating my wishlist and I happened to notice that the Adventurer's Toolkit was no longer available. Now it apears to be for **** near everything.

Really? I hadn't particularly searched around, the Amazon price seemed really good (Got both the Adventurer's Toolkit and the Core set for $82 delivered). I did a quick search just now, and nothing I found in the top 20 results were even close to the low price when compared to what Amazon was offering. If I can find someone who will get me somewhat close to what I was going to pay through Amazon, I'll order through them, but if not, the full MSRP is going to make it tough to justify it, at least right away. Might be worthwhile to wait a bit and hope for a cheap Ebay offering a few months down the line.

If you click on some of those amazon listings you'll see they're all third party sellers, for quite a bit more than the original Amazon price. Gathering Storm is also listed as Unavailable, and the GM Toolkit isn't even listed anymore.

Well, that definitely sucks. Amazon is my main means of purchasing RPG products. This shift might end my support of FFG products.

I just checked quickly and noticed that Amazon is only showing RPG products from FFG as unavailable or only selling through third-party sellers.

Board games and such from FFG are still listed as available, but all RPG books/accessories old and new aren't. I sent an email to Amazon asking them about future availability, hopefully there will be some sort of answer.

Has anyone tried to contact Amazon about this yet?

Whenever I buy anything from Amazon, it's always over the $25 minimum for free shipping. Ths is an easy task to accomplish with a majority of RPG products. Any other online retailer dealing in RPG products which I've seen don't offer free shipping. I have seen prices close to those on Amazon, but my experience tends to be contrary to what you're stating. I'm not saying that you're wrong, but only that my experience has been different.

However, if you'd care to point out some of the other sites with better offers then I am all ears. I know that a lot of people harp on about supporting your FLGS, but I would prefer to stick to online where I can usually get a better deal.

Usually, I just buy core books and supplements in hard copy form today and tend to pick up the modules (especially for D&D) in pdf format from RPGNow.com. I like to keep it on the cheap side.gui%C3%B1o.gif

I ordered both the Core set & the Adventures set from Amazon. The date for shipment kept changing so I finally canceled the order and ordered from DogStarGames.com and I was very pleased. I intend on ordering the Game Masters Kit and the Gathering Storm from Dog Star Games as well.

Amazon have been experiencing technical difficulties with some of their products for the past few days, apparently screwing with their prices and forcing them to cancel sales. As a result I think they've been delisting the products effected. Other RPG products include some of Cubicle 7 and Mongoose's stuff.

Comics were also hit, see below:

I do know that I was having some serious issues with updating my wishlist via the iphone app yesterday. I couldn't do a **** thing.

I know that a lot of rpg folks gripe about Amazon when it comes to pre-orders and release dates, but I've never personally had an issue with them at all. Of course, I don't pre-order and purchase every single game that comes out either. In fact, my pre-orders and purchases are fairly well scattered. Anyway, I've never seen issues with Amazon like they've apparently been having in the past two days.

I had ordered Rogue Trader: Lure of Expanse and Wrahammer Fantasy: Shades of Empire and Warhammer Fantasy 3rd: Gathering Storm four or five days ago.

Yesterday I got an email saying they had accidently sold out of all of them and my order was canceled. Have to just wait a bit for them to either order more or if it is a technical issue, for them to fix it.

I've been using the ccgarmory. While just slightly more expensive than Amazon, I've had good luck with their customer service.

Ah, that explains it. I also noticed the new Hellfrost books from Cubicle 7 are missing, and now I know why. Funny though, as their price was the standard 37% discounted one Amazon usually has.

The thread on RPG.net says that all products distributed via Diamond have been pulled.

Diamond is part of Alliance Games, the largest distributor of games. I'm wondering what the issue might be.

The rumor was that Diamond's products had suffered some kind of database glitch causing them to put a 95% or more discount on their retail prices. People were actually purchasing the products at those prices, namely comics for like a dime each. Amazon had to inform all those buyers that they weren't getting their products and they pulled all Diamond products until it could be sorted out.

Well that's good news, more than likely amazon pulled FFG's stuff because it was part of Diamond and they just wanted to double check everything. I'll bet they get that stuff back up pretty soon.

Just a note I received today from Amazon regarding this:

Hello,

I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused in this regard.

I checked our website and see that unfortunately, we don't have any more stock of RPG products from Fantasy Flight Games right now, and we're not sure when we'll be able to get more.

Our supply of some items is limited, and these products sell out quickly. I realize this is disappointing news.

I'd suggest checking our website from time to time to see if this item is available. If anyone is selling it, you'll see a "More Buying Choices" box on the product detail page; if it's not available from any sellers, you might see an "Order it used" or "Alert me" link. "Order it used" allows you to place a pre-order for the item in case another seller lists the item for sale later. "Alert me" allows you to sign up so we can e-mail you when Amazon has stock available for purchase.

I'm sorry I don't have better news. We hope to see you again soon.

Pretty non-committal, but it could be that it's a distribution issue rather than some sort of fallout between FFG and Amazon.

I have The Gathering Storm on pre-order from Amazon (the GM Toolkit has never been listed AFAIK). When you click on the item itself, it is no longer available for pre-order however. Rather you get a button to sign up to be notified via email when the item becomes available. I haven't received any notification that they do not plan to fulfill the order, so I'm optimistic that they'll get this sorted out in due time.
