Contracted Scout is still Amazing

This build is so annoying. Hits like a truck with double mods that can't be stopped by Fenn, Wes, Jam, Hotcop etc, has a focus on defense, and can easily double-stress a ship during the activation phase by white s-looping in front of it and dropping a debris token in its front guides. Since Calen brought this build to top 8, I think we're going to be seeing the Contracted Scout eclipse Dengar pilot as the most effective title carrier.

Thank goodness they didn't attach torpedo and unhinged slots to the title card. :lol:

Back when Mindlink first took off a version of this came 2nd at a Regional so it's a style that's worked in the past.

Yeah, I've been toying around with putting Expertise and Dengar on a non-Dengar Punishing One since the nerf (I like Manny for flavor reasons, but the Scout is probably the better fit). Super solid damage from a turret, just needs something to draw aggro from it.

From the games I've played against it so far, it just blocks the ship it doesn't want to take shots from.

It's really good. I was gonna run it post JM5K nerf, but then mass harpoons came out and PTL Asajj became a better option.

Id run the JM5K again right now for sure.

Going to try using one without title, just ml plus int agent + apl + chute

Losing poons did nothing to downplay how they're probably still the best blockers in the game

Dropping the title makes the Expertise and Dengar upgrades way less points efficient. If you've got double mods you want as much dice as possible.

I like it even more on Manaroo--depending on the rest of the list of course. If it's got its own passive mods, she can safely pass tokens off to friends for extra efficiency.

Do you miss enough (and early enough in the firing order) to make ops spec worth it? I kind of feel like just turning those 3 points into Expertise on all of them and then never needing the focus on offense seems more efficient

Agreed... I'm sure someone has already ran it (it's my current on deck list) but pairing it with PTL Asajj:

Asajj Ventress (52 Pts):

  • PTL, Latts Razzi, Glitterstim, Glitterstim (or Scavenger Crane), Shadow Caster, Countermeasures

Manaroo (48 Pts):

  • Expertise, Dengar, Punishing One, Anti-Pursuit Lasers

Total Squad Points: 100

I feel this could be a really hard hitting list and making Asajj even harder to kill. Especially with Asajj shooting fist and hopefully dropping the agility on the enemy... Could be fun?

I like it. Love, love, LOVE Manaroo. Especially after the mindlink nerf. She's the link that makes it feel like it never really did get nerfed. Kinda crazy to think her ability used to be unlimited range.

The only changes I would make in the list is dropping APL for rigged cargo. Rigged cargo does what it does, there's no dice rolls or movement order about it (well except the crit on debris but that's pure bonus).

This would allow you to upgrade PTL to expertise on Asajj which is probably the right meta call right now. Manaroo can safely pass the focus most turns, so PtL becomes redundant and passive mods are the flavor of the month on offense.

And I would 100% go with scav crane too. 3 agility Asajj is far more frightening, IMO, than infinite focus for a turn (especially with Manaroo passing focus). The fact that it sheds a lock and occur multiple times in a game makes it a no brainer as far as I'm concerned.

Its better to pay those few points and get a tel trevura at this point.

The ones from a different ship. If you're paying 48 points for it, may as well pay 53, get better ps and ability and make your list work around it. (You should also consider hull upgrade then)

The reason for Predator not Expertise is it let's you Dash it about over debris without a care in the world.

Ops Spec is the weak link, could be Dengar crew with Intimidation. Opportunist is actually ok here as well as a cheap Punishing One - you're blocking and RCC so much there's often a tokenless target. It just takes you to 99, and it's important to bid under Lothal Rebel.

In an SJ/Ghost meta I think Ops Spec is great, but otherwise I'd probably run Opportunist (as bonkers as that sounds).

You're being too generous. It's absolutely, unequivocally, quantifiably the best blocker in the game.

Using @MUrunner20's, probably the easiest cut to get Tel over Manny is to get rid of the Shadow Caster title. Exact points needed and Shadow Caster becomes less valuable with Tel out PSing Ventress.
