Large Scale Battles

By Ling27, in Star Wars: Legion

Long ago, my father told me of once when he played in a week long game of Napoleonic wargame stuff, with paper roads taped down and towns set up... on a schools basketball court. Troops could move at normal speed or march for faster movement. Regardless of the logistics, would anyone ever actually be interesting in doing something similar with Star Wars Legion, either recreating iconic scenes from the movies (or games, books, ect.) or is that kind of wargaming a piece of the past? I know that 40k Apocalypse games still sometimes occur, but never on the scale I love to see, where it consumes the location as an event to show off these impressive displays of armies and such. I've always found it fun, even if the game is more of a diorama for outsiders to see than if your actually playing the games.

I can see that one issue would be making sure everyone knows who's models belong to who, easier to deal with sometimes, still a concern.

As long as there are war gamers there will be mega out of control battles.

Locally there has been talk of putting together a Star Wars Armada, X-Wing and Legion action that is linked.... I've seen it done for Endor but instead of Legion, Imperial Assault was used. Seem to recall that was about a year ago down in Texas someplace.

Don't forget to add Rebellion in for the Strategic level gameplay...

You should probably resolve Legion conflict through a game of Destiny rather than rolling dice.

... oh, wait.
