Has anyone had any success with a 6 decimator swarm with 4 small ship build?

Only if you include A) Monra Kee, B) Valen Rudor, and C) Dengar.
Squadrons:
• Dengar (20)
• Valen Rudor (13)
• Morna Kee (27)
• 3 x VT-49 Decimator (66)
= 126 Points
Total Points: 126
why valen? I don't see the synergy?

Valen acts as anti-escort for the Deciamtors. Since they have heavy, Valen prevents them from moving once engaged.
ok,
but I am looking to use the decimators to engage ships as a primary and only dealing with fighters if I have to

Hence Dengar.

Then replace Valen with Zertek to escort Dengar.
I would always replace one Decimator with Bossk. Similar points but a nice ability with the guaranteed accuracy. With Zertek able to get Bossk slightly damaged they work well together. Bossk also gets a brace and he isn't heavy
You can get away without an escort and just Dengar if you're smart about rocks. There's a guy in my meta who does a good job with five Decimators and Dengar - flies it in conjunction with a Demolisher and some Arquitens if I recall.
I did a team event with him before the Rhymer nerf - we had ten Decimators firing at ships from medium range. I think that event alone settled the need to nerf Rhymer.
I use with good success such build (2nd on Katowice Regionals)
Morna
Decimator
Bosk
Dengar
Zetrik
Jendon.

To be fair, I found that one can get away with not flying Dengar as long as the fleet is set up to shred fighters fast. I ran the following squad at some point:
• Morna Kee (27)
• 2 x VT-49 Decimator (44)
• Colonel Jendon (20)
• Valen Rudor (13)
• Gamma Squadron (10)
• 2 x TIE Bomber Squadron (18)
= 132 Points
backed by Squall with ruthless strategists.

I really like this. Going to have to give it a whirl.
I agree about skipping Dengar. Decis and Rudor tend to make short work of enemy fighters anyways.
I have ran 4 Decimators, Valen, and dengar. It is a scary and versatile squadron ball to face.
I was one day away from taking a full Decimator lineup (plus Dengar), along with Instructor Goran to a Regionals, ....
... until I realized Goran has a non-heavy condition.
The fleet died right there, before hitting the table once.

I'm still planning to do that kind of fleet. Because Morna is not heavy and counter 2 Vader is scary. So Morna, Decimator, Dengar, Jendon, Vader - that's 110 points. And then there are 24 points to use. I see the following options:
1. Bossk (counter 2 + accuracy makes a nice troll)
2. Soontir (You have to attack that Vader or kill Dengar, right?)
3. Black squad + Zertik (escort for everyone!)
4. Gar Saxon (Cats. Curiosity. Why not?)
5. Maarek (everyone loves Maarek)
6. Rhymer + TIE (one does need to kill those ships after all)

Nice.
Jendon + Morna is as nice as Jendon + Maarek.
Plus he helps with the Relay.

And alpha strike with 4 speed 5 decimators can be a really nasty surprise (especially a hyperspace alpha strike).
Valen immunity to counter is also great.
...on the other hand, once you do Jendon, why not take Maarek instead of a Decimator?

Decimator has counter 1. Maarek doesn't. Doing one hit at a time is a good way to overload scatter (and/or to ignore brace).
Success? No, I don't own enough Decimators to try a swarm of them.
Watched in horror as my fleet was eaten alive by a 6-decimator swarm? Yes... yes I have.
I have run 4 Decimators, Dengar and a TIE advanced to keep Dengar alive a bit longer. I love it as a squadron Ball Chasing down an ISD to win a couple of games. In fact, it was the only positive I took away from the recent regionals in Cardiff, after the experience there I'm not sure how any 4 medium/small ship fleet with a big fighter ball will do anything in the Wave 7 Meta.

But you can only take 5 max with a 400 point list. Playing campaign?

6 *22? isn't that 132?

With the Decimators at 22 points each, six of them equal out to 132 out of the 134 points you can bring for squadrons.

I mathed wrong with 23. Thinking of Bossk price.
