Attack Formation! March 11, X-Wing tournament in Tokyo

How regular is regular? I'd like to get involved in some of these but getting there from Fukushima takes time and next month is a little busy.

The more people that can join us the better!

Regular means bimonthly at least and occasionally every month. Do a search for "Japan" in lists juggler and see that we have a good record in doing so. I am behind all the events in Tokyo and Chiba, although unfortunately the FLG in Chiba that stocked X-Wing stuff closed down last December. I also always try to provide a FFG kit although we are not officially sponsored or anything.

Our next tournament is scheduled for May the fourth.

We also have a Facebook page and I am planing to start a meetup page too.

Middle of Golden Week, huh? I might be able to pull that off. It'll depend on the girlfriend mostly. What sort of time do these tournies usually finish? At about 4 hours one-way travel time is a big part of planning.

I assume you're talking about Mr. Fields? The follow-up shop should be opening this Saturday from what I can tell, but I've got no idea if they'll be stocking X-Wing or any miniature games really. So far it looks pretty board game focused.

Yes, it was MrFields the place that we used to hold them. Musashi was a great host for us, too bad he had to close down the store.
Mori-san that used to work there opened up a new store by himself in Kashiwa. I don't know if he is still affiliated in any way with the company that Musashi-san was working for.
The opening is scheduled for this weekend but I am not planing to attend. I am also running JIGG Tokyo and will be hosting the Ayase game day this Sunday.

As for the tournament goes, we start at 10 but the first round doesn't start before 11 in order to give time for latecomers to arrive. Depending on how many swiss rounds we need to do, usually 4, we finish around 18:30~19:30.

Cool, thanks for that. It'll make planning for a possible run at the next tournament easier. I'd love to get down there, I never get to play stuck up here as I am.

I hope Miniature Forest stocks X-Wing and other wargames, but I have the feeling it'll be fairly minor if they do. No idea if it's associated with the same company, I have a feeling it isn't given the sudden shutdown and crowdfunding.

I know the reasons for the shutdown but I have no info regarding Mori-san new store. Other than his tweets that is.

If you are coming from Fukushima and running late just let me know. There 50/50 chance you make the number of players odd so you will get a buy first round. If not, I have the latecomers play their first match during lunch break around 12 something.

I've got permission to come down to a tournament May 4th, so in all likelihood you'll see me there. Unless something comes up, which is quite possible.

Awesome! May the 4th be with you!
