Regionals Help

By WookieHairdresser, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So here's the deal, I had a really solid regionals list that consisted of Nym/Poe and in practice ended up 16-1 with it, until meeting this Lothal Rebel list. It gets absolutely wrecked by Ghost Fenn as I have recently discovered and I feel as I'm likely to play vs that list if I make the cut I'm asking to be knocked out by it.

So back to the drawing board and I'm in need of a new list. For tournament play I most enjoy high point value Rebel ships; Poe, Corran, & Miranda. I usually want them as a late game option so often topping 49/50 pts.

I've tried lots of pairings but haven't been able to find a list that gets one of them loaded out as I enjoy with 50pts of other things (2x baby Wookies for example) that can be competitive and able to beat Ghost Fenn. I played a Rey list against it and beat it hard, but is there a way to beat it using one of the ships I most enjoy?

Literally any and all suggestions will be tested out, 3 weeks to go and I'm open to anything!

Thanks all!

Hm. With a request like that, for "any and all suggestions," I would just suggest you read through the forums. You'll find more ideas easier.

However, I actually think Nym/Poe could be good against Fenn - though it is very delicate, which is my main concern. I generally like 3 ships or 1 large, one small ship, because you need HP in this meta, but Nym/Poe are agile enough to evade the TLT while having the tools to take down Fenn.

Like so:

Poe (PS 9)

VI

Black One

Adv. Optics

BB-8

Autothrusters

Nym

Predator

TLT

EM

Harpoons

Cluster Mines

Conner Nets

Havoc

Enhanced Scopes

R4-E1

So, Poe is standard. High PS and slipperiness makes him hard to hit. BB-8 is really useful, especially for stripping TLs. Plus, his ability is tokenless mods, so anti-Fenn.

Nym like this also has tokenless attack mods. Harpoons are just there to fill some points, and possible crush someone on a lucky shot. Enhanced Scopes/R4-E1 and the mines lets you move first, knowing EXACTLY where your opponent is so you can drop the mines right at them, even after a red move.

Between a quick bombing and 3 3-dice attacks modified without tokens, Fenn should drop turn one. Then, TLT and Poe, plus some bombs and Harpoons, will shred the Ghost.

Try to stress evil Fenn before your ships attack. Then all you have to worry about is HSCP.

Fenn Rau (Sheathipede) (20)
Veteran Instincts (1)
R3-A2 (2)

Fenn stresses other Fenns turning off their ability. Now just build a list to kill Ghost, only worrying about HSCP.

Or VI R3A2 Ezra along with Norra.

Maybe something like this:

Ezra Bridger (Sheathipede) (17)
Veteran Instincts (1)
"Chopper" (0)
R3-A2 (2)

Norra Wexley (29)
Expertise (4)
C-3PO (3)
R2-D2 (4)
Vectored Thrusters (2)
Alliance Overhaul (0)

Poe Dameron (31)
Adaptability (0)
R5-P9 (3)
Advanced Optics (2)
Autothrusters (2)

Total: 100

Versus Lothal/Fenn you can actually adapt Poe down to 7 so Ezra attacks first and stresses evil Fenn, so you can use target locks. Evil Fenn shouldn't last too long here, then you have two regen ships, and Ezra can turn off Maul as well if he is still around.

I would personally go with rebel jank, 4 ships a mixture of stress/lowrick and whatever else fits in (currently flying rex/ezra/low/Keyan).

Otherwise a solid list is one of the 3 ship builds involving miranda and two other ships.
There are a great variety of them, one of the recent successful ones played Miranda/Low/Jess, with M9-G8 to neuter the ghost's TLT.

When you play a two-ship list with 2 or less agility dice, then you get chewed up hard by the ghost list.

Basic Expertise/Finn/Kanan/title Rey is 58 points, which would allow a PS 10 VI Poe at 41. It's not quite as much of a point fortress, but it might work as a "best of both worlds" sort of list.
