Gaslands - Has anyone played it?

By Astrodar, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

Armada was my first delve into miniature gaming, and I was thinking about branching out a little. That said, Armada pretty well has devoured my funding for miniatures.

Gaslands looks like a fun rule set that relies almost exclusively on some D6 and Hotwheels or Matchbox cars. It seems extremely reasonably priced to get in at the base level. On top of that, it seems like it would be a good in for trying kit-bashing and painting for the first time.

Has anyone with more miniature gaming experience played this? What are your thoughts?

I'd not heard of this game, but I'm glad that you posted about it, because it looks awesome! I'm going to order the book today and I've already raided the kids' toy box for models, scoring one monster truck and a hot rod with a skull on the front.

I ended up ordering the book as well. I figured for $15 and a few Hot Wheels cars, it was worth checking out. I'm excited to give it a go!

Sad the print book is out of stock.

My son is on the younger side but LOVES board/tabletop games (we frequently play a simplified armada together) and also loves toy cars and has a huge collection. This SEEMS like a perfect gateway for him to play a more fully realized version of a table game. Those of you that have it/tried it, what are your thoughts?

Wow- this looks dangerously fun...

Both the gameplay and the kitbashing/painting...

Amazon has it.

I've received my copy and still think it looks really fun, but I haven't gotten to play any games yet.

Dude I was LITERALLY just typing this up hahaha.

I am def going to pick it up just a matter of deciding PDF or hard copy since amazon and the mfr are out of stock until earliest end of march.

When it comes in, we can borrow some of Cliff's cars and give it a whirl?

I’m super down. I might already start kitbashing some stuff

Now I need to find extra 40k greebles at a reasonable price...

It's probably worth mentioning that the original apocalyptic car fighting games Car Wars (1980) is being re-worked and will have a Kickstarter "soon". It's supposedly using modern game play element (ala X-Wing). I'm looking forward to this. I spent a lot of time playing Car Wars back in the day!

I watched the videos and went straight to eBay!

I might be watching a couple lots currently, we will see what they end up going for.

I asked my buddy who used to play 40k and this was his response

“I have a metric ****-tonne of bits. You'll have to be specific on what you want”

so, we might be set

Yes, Fantastic Game!

Also a Kitbasher's dream. Get Fury Road playing on the TV, grab some old hot Wheels cars and start strapping guns to 'em!

It is NOT a min/max game. It's all about fun and outrageous game events. Cheap to buy either Print a PDF or buy off Amazon.

Most fun I've had in years.

Gaslands is hugely popular around me. Supposed to be a lot of fun.

I highly recommend joining the Gaslands FB group, lots of great AARs and pics of games/cars.
