Can you move a Lambda into a bunch of fighters then use its Relay after its been moved?

By Blail Blerg, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

If the Lambda starts in your commanding range, and the two squads you want to Relay are out of your commanding range. Can you activate, reveal/use squad dial, move the Lambda with the 1st activation, then from the Lambda's new position Relay 2 squads with your 2nd and 3rd activation?

Any other details about relay that are difficult?

Seems fine to me as long as your shuttle doesn't shoot Shara at the end of its movement and die in the process from counter(3).

When doing a squadron command that has a squadron value of more than one you should do them one at a time. This allows you to see if you kill something and then react accordingly with subsequent fighters - sending them else where or to finish off a target if you rolled poorly etc.

So Lambda moves into position, then 2 more squads can activate through the shuttles relay rule.

If the Lambda was out of activation range of the carrier it could move into position using relay but then only one more squadron could activate through relay for that carrier's squadron command. Later a handy flotilla through could then squadron command again through the shuttle.

Dont forget that relay is a passive ability.... so dosnt prevent you attacking if activated by a sqn command.

Is there a point of declaration though on activating squadrons? Like do you have to declare you're going to command which ones or trigger Relay before doing any of them? It seems you do not have to delcare which squadrons you're doing, nor how many. Though I don't know why in the rules you don't have to. Anyone know?

In the Commands section in the RRG:

"Activate a number of friendly squadrons up to the ship’s squadron value that are at close–medium range of the ship. Each squadron activated in this way can attack and move in either order. The squadrons are chosen and activated one at a time."

Ok thanks.

I'm not familiar enough to know exactly where to look for these things.

Slightly related question about declaring in advance. If I have a squadron value of 3 and a squadron token and wish to possibly use the token to get squadron (4). Do I have to declare I am adding in the token before I begin activating any fighters or can I resolve 3 and if things didn't go too well to achieve results throw in the final squadron spending the token then?

That I believe you do have to declare in advance, as otherwise you would be resolving the same command more than once (a dial first and a token later), which is not allowed. You have to resolve the dial and the token at the same time, i.e. as one command.
