Double Silencer+???

By Mcpolle, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Have been hearing about a double Silencer list, starting to turn up, with QD, I really enjoy flying the Silencer, so, maybe flying two, not sure of how competitive it would be, but sure sounds like fun.

Sienar-Jaemus Analyst (32) x 2
TIE Silencer (26), Fire-Control System (2), Advanced Optics (2), Autothrusters (2)

“Quickdraw” (36)
Special Forces TIE (29), Veteran Instincts (1), Fire-Control System (2), Advanced Optics (2), Special Ops Training (0), Lightweight Frame (2)

Am guessing the list would look something like this, anyone tried it, or has any good improvements on it??

Am going to the System open in Hannover, and am looking for a squad for that, is this at all viable??, Or will it get slaughtered by the Meta?

This is the one I saw on list juggler

Sienar-Jaemus Analyst + Advanced Optics + Fire-Control System + Autothrusters
Sienar-Jaemus Analyst + Advanced Optics + Fire-Control System + Autothrusters
"Quickdraw" + Veteran Instincts + Special Ops Training + Advanced Optics + Fire-Control System + Lightweight Frame

Looks like you’re of the same mind. It looks like a lot of fun, is bomb resistant and maeuvreable enough to give the Wookiees trouble. Try it and let us know!

I like the idea. 3 ships with 3 base attack dice and great action economy. 32 points for a ship that reminds me of a defender in durability. It's definitely more maneuverable, and FCS gives more consistent attack mods. And Quickdraw is always good. I'd say put it on the table and see how it flies.

SHHHHHHHH!

(Sorry...it was low hanging fruit, I couldn't resist.)

Seems solid enough. QD is a proven commodity, one of the best Imperial ships. The silencers are pretty reasonable heavy fighters with solid enough action economy, and very good dials.

I have been flying this for a while now and it is a lot of fun. The thing to remember is when to tank with QD and when to disengage. Also I think the combo of Advanced Optics and FCS is being completely overlooked. Try it out and see if you like it, I know I do.

Bit of a thread necro, but how are you generally flying this list?

I'm having a hard time grasping whether or not I should be leaning toward brawling and taking advantage of the 2 hards? Or making passes and disengaging, coming back around?

This is what i‘m flying atm.

"Omega Leader" (21)
Juke (2)
Comm Relay (3)

First Order Test Pilot (29)
Intensity (2)
Fire-Control System (2)
Advanced Optics (2)
Autothrusters (2)

First Order Test Pilot (29)
Intensity (2)
Fire-Control System (2)
Advanced Optics (2)
Autothrusters (2)

Total: 100

This list is so much fun. The PS 6 seems low but it isn’t. You can use the silencers as blockers against higher ps ships and outmaneuver lower ps pilots. The intensity is super effective. Focus+Evade+thrusters is nearly a soontir fell.

I think that the QD list mentioned above is really efficient and maybe better than mine but I don’t fly QD anymore because everyone does. Nearly every Imp. List is QD+?+?

Omega leader becomes the top target priority very often and that’s totally ok.

Funnily enough, when I flew the two Silencers for a small 12 man tourney, it was this exact list, and won the little tourney as well, many times the Silencers were on like 1 hull left, but they surviived, lost Ol almost every game, but still that is so few points, and the damage had been done by then.

Find these Silencers to survive quite well, altho they are not as janky in their movements as say Kylo with AS, and push, because well....

Anyway, find them fun to fly.

I don't find it easy to fly (OL + 2 FO Test Pilots).

I played 7 Matches with this list and went 4/3. I'm still struggling with the opening engagement and the perfect moment to disengage.

I played against Keyan/Ezra/Low with Tactician and got wrecked. The stress was killing me. Other Matchups like Rey/Poe went better for me.

The list requires lots of practice, but flying this perfectly has the potential to beat lots of stuff flying around...
