Canon Material still needed in X-wing

By Snaves146, in X-Wing

I would be so ecstatic if the Rebels got the Mellcrawler , Nien Nunb's personal freighter he used as a smuggler and gun-runner, which went on several key missions under the command of Leia Organa (as per the Disney Leia comics and novel). Plenty of Leia's hand-picked team are in those sources to round out an entire expansion of crew cards / pilots, and it'd be nice to have a Leia pilot and a Leia crew card that was more useful.

As for role, the ship could be sort of akin to a large-based Quadjumper style ship.

There's even a Mellcrawler II , used by the Rebel Alliance and General Lando (and Nien) after the Battle of Endor, as seen in Shattered Empire :

There's this guy in the first movie who gives Luke his father's lightsaber. He could do something in the game, I bet.

And then there was some swamp-muppet in the second movie who smacks R2 with his walking stick. I bet he'd be neat.

There was also a cool guy with the world's largest Bluetooth headset, who basically did nothing but follow Lando around and open his eyes dramatically this one time. Still could probably be a good crew card.

There was this cool, snarky droid dude who flew a U-Wing and was droll about slavery and not having a choice in going on a suicide mission. He could even be a pilot or something!

I mean if "We shall double our efforts" guy gets a card and "has a drink at the bar" guy gets a card and the little snotball who shoots a U-Wing door gun gets a card, maybe those first four guys could get some love.

Whole heartedly agree with you, Lightsaber Giver, Swamp Muppet, and the Snarky droid all need to be in the game as crew and Snarky droid definitely needs to be a pilot of a U-wing since we do see him pilot one out of Jedha.

Whole heartedly agree with you that Darth Vader in the Eta-2 would be awesome but I don't think many others besides Jedi flew them because of how finnicky they were but who knows. If they did a Clone Wars version of X-Wing we would definitely see it with Anakin and Obi-Wan as pilots plus other Jedi.

Exactly, that's the point :D an excellent point to ease in more older ships (plus, an excellent source).

What, no mention of Pops or Tiree?

Those two should have been in the game from the beginning, I would love an update to my beautiful Y-Wings but I just don't ever see it happening unfortunately. The way Aces packs should have been done was by fixing previous waves instead of just random ships. So it should have been the X-Wing and Y-Wing in the Rebel Aces pack instead of the A-Wing and B-Wing.

This is absolutely my thoughts on the TIE/MG. The Mining Guild is a subfaction of the Empire (not just Imperial contractors, but an actual subsidiary company of the Empire). Sorry, triple-faction-TIE Fighter fans, but there's no lore justification for a scum TIE Fighter. I understand why you want it for the game, but the actual Rebels episode doesn't justify it.

Then why does the Star Wars website have the following on Mining Guild TIE?

Mining Guild TIE fighters, however, had a distinct yellow color scheme, clearly delineating that they were not in direct service of the Empire.”

Not sure why people argue this point. They are free agents, but are give ordinance, because they help the Empire.

in terms of the sequel trilogy, there is still the Resistance transport and the related Resistance Transport Pod (which honestly could easily be part of a single set, with an ability for the transport to eject the passenger pods and heavy weapons and continue on as the Pod)

there is also the U-55 Orbital Loadlifter , which while lacking firepower, could give the Resistance a support shuttle type unit, as well as the possibilities of some interesting stealth/cloaking modification cards.

This could be interesting

What the ****!? Who wrote that lore? Built by Sienar!? That's the most Mon Calamari frakkin thing I've seen in years!

Nah, it's not nearly warty enough to be Mon Cal made. It's sloping, mostly uniform look actually does resemble an IPV or Guardian Class a bit. The Guardian even looks like it also has loads of windows.

Actually, the u-55 loadlifter would be small base. It is about the length of a y-wing.

Well, the factions in this game are big and overarching (there's only three), so they are more a question of affiliation, morals, obligations, goals, and backstory, not the specific chain of command. The Mining Guild, while not the Empire, are Empire-affiliated. They wouldn't betray the Empire just for money, like all true Scum would.

I don't really like the argument that anything that doesn't specifically belong to the Imperial Navy or the Rebel Alliance can't still be Imperial or Rebel. Saw's partisans, for example, don't belong to the Rebel Alliance, but he shares common goals with them, so he's Rebel.

Wow, the Y-Wing is longer than I thought. Wait, and people are upset the Scurrg is a small base?

It could also be the first non-epic ship to come with a campaign.

Plus, I think the Sheathipede conclusively proves that "support" craft are still super relevant in this game.

And the times have changed so much that Phantoms and the Scum Cloaking Device are very underpowered, so it could come with a cloak "fix".

If I were to prototype such a ship, I would say for sure it either needs to incorporate Teams from epic somehow or just have an ***-load of crew slots. Because supposedly you can fit like 60 people in there. Maybe some Cargo, a few of those also work in standard, barring, y'know, giving it something to generate energy. Probably 1 AGI native so it only goes to 3 with Cloak, unless the math says Cloak isn't worth it unless it bumps to 4. Maneuvers like dogshit, it's very literally a flying brick. Give it some mods to interact with cloak which might affect other ships. Probably some sort of title which enables it to inflict damage or just get like a regular 2 ATK but probably at significant cost to an underlying frame, since something with no guns and just upgrades needs to be pretty cheap.

And then just stuff the pack with resistance crew cards.

The faction to which each pilot belongs actually comes down to backstory. You can argue ideology or common goals, but the simple fact is that Saw’s rebels started as rebels, helping other cells etc. That’s what puts him firmly in the Rebel category.

its the same with the mining guild. The guild and the Empire would np doubt agree that they are not the same organization, one does not take orders from the other and each has its own interests. The guild started as a scummy back room dealing organization and so that’s where it will stay firmly.

I think a lot of people are willing to put some pilots in the Imperial camp because Boba Fett is also there, but Fett was put in that faction before there even was an idea for a third faction and in truth we haven’t had any Scum types be put in the Imperial group since scum’s inception.

Though I do agree it’s seeming more and more that Scum is being treated as a catch all for anything that doesn’t fit in the other two, but maybe that’s what FF had in mind. If there was a forth faction, a separate business faction or some other type of catch all, I’d say it should go there, but given the options, the only one that makes sense would be Scum.

Well it is not designed as a passenger ship. It is basically a space pickup truck. Sure you can fit a lot of people in one, but they are crammed into a volume meant to carry cargo. Heck, it barely even has seats.

star-wars-last-jedi-cross-sections-02.jp

So maybe two crew slots and then a cargo.. With new cargo options usable for both regular and epic ships.

Yes to multi-format cargo!

i think the stealth component should be a title similar to the Stolen TIE. And do those transports even have guns?

Can't post image here (too big).
But vaders new ship for sure, some kind of custom sith interceptor.

No weapons, no shields either. Low agility. But that being said, it could still work for the game.

Sheesh even the dinky shuttle craft in Star Trek TOS had Shields.

I think.

i dunno, those transports sound more like the Senator Shuttle from the core set than a large plastic ship that I want to buy.

this thing looks.....

AWESOME!

its got the swooping curves of a B-22 (something I thought would be in this game well before any of the SWG scum fighters) and the awesome TIE motif from the Infiltrator. Dude, rear turret?!

when was Vader flying this thing?
