Things this game DOES need brought over from X-Wing

The Jumpmaster actually.

Really?

I only ever heard it called the Toilet Seat.

Donuts and Donut Holes were almost always the R1 No Shoot Zone.

If the ship did follow the maneuver tool, what would you do with the squadrons?

That would be such a mess.

because it's a circle with a hole in the middle(and out the side). Also, pfft, Canadians. ;)

it was bs because it's SO cheap for such a durable workhorse. You can literally fit 4 into a list totaling out at 36 hp, i think it's the highest hp combo in the game, it has the 360 degree arc, has 2 green dice for evasion and an insane dial. That's before even getting into the crazy combos that work with it.

Dash was never really an issue in my exp, 1 ship(no matter the capability) will die eventually. (dash also costs over 50 points fully upgraded).

Yeah, this is correct. The Jumpmaster was not the donut. The Range 2-3 for a Dash ship was.

So, for the record... I went to the X-Wing Forums, typed a search for "Donut", and ignoring the results talking about actual Krispy Kreme donuts and the donut shaped ball joint on X-Wings, we have... As Oldest Results:

"Outrider with HLC can get a single range 1 attack at 4 dice (for even more points) if the pilot is worried about their donut"

" ..using those asteroids to keep people out of the donut hole."

"...having a 4-attack crit-less
donut around your ship seems nice. However, is that really better than having 4 attack as a cone, surrounded by a 2 attack turret, and 3 attack at Range 1? And a 5 point discount? Moreover, is the HLC-Outrider combo seriously 12 points of upgrade nice?"

"...Fixes the arc problem and Han can do his best to protect Dash's
donut hole. That sounded so wrong..."

"Wouldn't that one be the
donut and the Outrider+Autoblaster be the Donut Hole? Well, if you think about it, the ship itself is in the center of the hole of the Donut , which is like you said, the HLC ring. So, if you're referring to the ship, why not be as specific as possible?"

"...because of that big ol
donut whole. You are actually encouraging your opponents to get at range one, which again is a very interesting change. Long story short, I highly disagree that the 2400 is easy mode, or that it removes tactics from the game the way the Falcon does."

"...An HLC equipped outrider has a MASSIVE
donut hole of a blind spot at range 1 all around it, and you think there's "no need to move properly." Or are you talking about a naked 36 point Dash absolutely OBLITERATING EVERYTHING with his mighty 2 attack dice?"

" My vote for the nickname for Outrider+HLC: The Donut Hole."

In... Um... June 2014.

I argue that what I referred to, as the Donut... Was the Donut, first and foremost.

If the Jumpmaster is the Donut... Then you've named it derivatively and are doin' it wrong... Because you're deliberately confusing people.

Additionally, searching for both Donut and Jumpmaster, in order to get a feeling for wheter it is referred to as that, gets me results like this:

" ... donut hole, and pt cost are his only real weaknesses....if he didn't have at least the donut limitation he would be a Jumpmaster . Dash runs away."

" ...and less with TLTs since keeping people out of your r1 donut holes and not getting shredded required a bit of good flying. But yes, I think with 3x jumpmasters its a little dangerously close to 'easy mode' for some people."

So... People referring to Donuts in threads about Jumpmasters, but not referring to the Jumpmasters as that, instead, referring to the Donut Holes....

But please, in all seriousness - I have a thing where I try to keep up with the Lingo, and if this is actually the case, I completely missed it , so if you could point out some places where the Jumpmaster is referred to as a Donut, I would be legitimately very appreciative... :)

Also, **** Canadians. being Canadians.

Glad I'm not one.

Lol first: I'm impressed at the level of research you did on this.

Second: ya, I'm probably wrong. I heard the jumpmaster refereed to as the donut but it might have been a mess up on their part, a misunderstanding on my part of what they were talking about, or maybe it was just a weird StL thing.

Third: I absolutely joke about Canada barely being a place more real than Narnia but I'd take being Canadian over American in a second right now, my country has lost its mind.

Wait you're not Canadian? I'm very confused.

You better run. You better take cover.

I said to the man, "are you trying to tempt me b ecause I come from the land of plenty?"

This poor thread has literally devolved into us reciting a song person by person based on someones relative location of origin. I'm not sure which of us is the most responsible but I'm blaming @geek19 or myself. If you're reading this FFG, we might need a new article.

Basically ?

but yes, formally, I am merely resident here.

in no way naturalized.

We all know which country is best and it starts with an A and miles from no where. The place where everything wants to kill you.

On topic I dont feel Armada needs much from X wing at all. X wing lost its way a long time ago. Power creep killed it or boosted sales which ever way you wont to look at it.

When big base freighters can go faster then interseptors you know there are issues with the game basics.

It would be cool if Armada had some sort of mechanic where you could role the ship over to protect a damaged side. But that would put lots of complications into the game since its really a 2d game.

Barrel role is the connection but on a bigger scale. BSG series did this and it looked cool.

Which is it?? Pick one.

That's like saying "When I grow up, I wanna be an artist." You can't be both.

To be fair, it’s not like I don’t WANT to believe you, but even you must admit we have a track history of interaction that isn’t the most conducive to trust... but I will withdraw any overt outrage in the sake of peace ?

Yeah. Its tongue in cheek. We both paint. Let's say its something I bet both of us have heard before.

Well, being the size and build that I am, no one says it to my face at least ?

Lol. I know you mean well, but I'm sure you don't want to be known for physical intimidation either. :D

Wait, are you really tall or really short? Or are most of the people you encounter really tall or really short. This is a relaint on some kind of perspective that nay or may not be forced. Demanding perspectives need to know!

I think my statement is fairly simply and clear.

I also agree on Dras's reply.

I also hope Armada does not go the same way. It may have nudged the boundaries with an upgrade here or there.

Why would anyone want to "grow up?" Nah, that's a compliment to artists.
