There better be some extended scenes explaining how Phasma got back from the dead, how Rose and Finn got back from crashing in front of the imperial lines, why the Order refuses to shoot stuff or outflank a limping resistance fleet, why purple hair doesn't trust Poe, and why... oh dear I've seemed to stopped caring.

Yeah or it might be like Prometheus where it's scenes that would of made the movie make more sense, while not actually improving it.

Oh yeah I had no clue those youtube vids existed I saw the movie and didn't care about any of the crew as they were picked off.

Even had I seen them the movie was still terrible and I'm really hoping it's true Disney has no plans to continue them once the buyout is done.

Indeed. Movies should stand on themselves. The moment you need to access other media to know who the characters being introduced are, then the movie makers have failed.

I find this one actually worse than TLJ. 1st of: As bad as TLJ was it didn't turn what's suposed to be sci-fi-horror into a friggin Benny Hill scetch! 2nd: Unlike JJ, Cameron had talent once. Sad to see him ef up like this.

Oh and the chestburster scene! That captain dude wasn't even a character anymore, he just existed to move the plot about. How do you go from "I'm not trusting this android guy" to "okay I'll have a look and stick my head in this strange egg thing." Dafuuuuuuuuu-

It is amazing to me that ALIENS set the bar when it comes to an Action Movie creating compelling, mostly three-dimensional characters in which an audience can become deeply invested. Only to have just about everything in the franchise since then doing just an awful job of delivering robust characters.

First Order General Hux was on his way to becoming my favorite of the new antagonists as of TFA.

But in The Last Jedi they turned him from a possible Heir to Grand Moff Tarkin into the worst possible combination of the Scobby Doo/Cobra Command/Campy 60’s Batman Villains.
