Fenn/Ghost hard counter Scum Version

By Kijaucey, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So the idea here is to get dice mods through non token means and to hopefully crit the ghost and boba the ghost title away. But I need some help since Im not super familiar with scum.

This is nastier I think. All turrets. Crit ability. BMST.

I forgot to mention, Harpoons are banned in the format we are doing.

What kind of format allows Ghost/Fenn but not Harpoons?

Careful with deadeye lists, HSCP can end those shenanigans real quick.

Score to settle/boba fett is my go to cheap counter for ghost fenn.

I also like Wired/Maul BobaFett with a plasma torpedo. Eliminate 4 or 5 shields in one go. Can pair him with HLC or mangler expertise/dengar Kath for a dual firespray list.

Oh yes you have a good point about hscp and the one guy Im thinking about uses it! Im building the list custom tailored because it is a round robin league.

I know its nothing really like your list, but this is a fairly hard counter to Fenn/Ghost lol:

Ketsu

Expertise

Dengar

Shadowcaster

Asajj

PTL

Latts

You can then season to taste with Glitterstims, Countermeasures, and Scavenger Cranes. I, for one, would get Glitter on Asajj to get around Fenn when attacking.

Dengar
Expertise
K4 Security Droid
Punishing One

Asajj
Expertise
K4 Security Droid
Glitterstim
Glitterstim

Tears through Ghost like hot knife through butter

Yeah I like those two ideas because once fenn is dead, both of my ships out ps the ghost for end game, unlike the lists I have above.

Push the Limit (3)
•Latts Razzi (2)
Glitterstim (2)
Glitterstim (2)

Total: 100/100

Im going to try something like this. Latts seems really strong against ezra maul combo. And I aim to kill fenn first so I have boost and barrell rolls after ghost moves mid and late game. I want to keep boba as a threat to taste.

I am not convinced about Latts agains maul/ezra.

Ghost attacks with TLT, uses maul to reroll one die. If you use Latts to evade one, you give him the opportunity to use maul again on the second TLT shot, where he could use maul to reroll two dice. If you use Latts again and he uses maul to remove one stress, he is free to use maul again on the end-of-round TLT shots (where the above would repeat itself).
If you had not had/used Latts and he uses maul on two dice, he is not able to use maul again for the reminder of the round.

In some cases you trade one evade for potentially two rerolls, or two evades for potentially three rerolls. I dont think its worth it.

Your tactic of killing Fenn first sounds good on paper, but in my expirence, before you catch Fenn the ghost has put a lot of hurt on you. All the matches I have won against Ghost/Fenn I have gone 100% for the Ghost (which is why I prefer 2xExpertise and 2xK4). A few nasty crits can really mess things up for that big ugly thing. When Ghost is down it doesnt really matter if you have Dengar or Asajj left. Both are a really good match against Fenn and the shuttle. If you have them both left, well then its almost a certain win.

You are right for the most part about maul disruption except for when he will hit anyway. May as well sneak the stress off for an evade before Maul takes it off and no benefit to you.

I played the game today and I have to thank you guys very much! I got the win (the salt was so high it could have piled up and salted the roads of Boston for three winters; he knew I custom tailored the list when Boba stripped the ghost title off). He left his Fenn too far behind the ghost so I killed him before he got any damage. But next time ghost dies first.

Correct, but that a bit situational and he will probably be encouraged to use maul even more when he knows you will help him take off the stress. IMO it doesnt add up to enough advantage for you.

Congrats on the win. I can see how Boba taking off the title can really help.
