If firing a ship weapon that has both linked and limited ammo, do you have to use 2 ammo each shot(simple system)? Use 2 ammo if you want to activate linked(more simulation based)? Use 1 ammo regardless(it's a narrative system, don't worry about it)?
I've been looking through the books but can't seem to find an official answer.
If the weapon has the Limited Ammo quality then it uses one ammo when fired normally, plus a second ammo when you trigger Linked. I'm pretty sure this is in one of the books, but I can't be bothered to search for it right now.

Yeah, that's possible. Those two tend to blend together a little in my head sometimes.

If a Proton Torpedo Launcher has Limited Ammo 8 and Linked 1, which (A or B) is correct?
A) It can fire 8 times, each launching 2 torpedoes. The launcher holds a total of 16 torpedoes with the Limited Ammo saying how many salvos are available.

B) It can fire 4 times, each launching 2 torpedoes. The launcher holds a total of 8 torpedoes with the Limited Ammo saying how many torpedoes are available and that number divided by the number of linked launchers.

B is correct. You could also specify that you're only firing one shot, and choose not to even try and activate Linked. As long as the GM says its alright, then you'd fire a maximum of one torpedo
Thanks Salamar, I missed it.
Ultimately that means that for our group it's the GMs decision on how to run it since he (like many others) don't follow the forums or podcasts. I'll mention Stewart's answer and see how it goes.
Assuming I ever get my hands on a linked limited ammo weapon.
