The Arrestor Cruiser

By Imperial Advisor Arem Heshvaun, in Star Wars: Armada

New ship looks terrible. Glad GL went with the classic SD shape instead. Tgis ship looks more at home on 2001 a space odyessey.

I’ve redesigned it-

Needs more dishes.....

The Arrestor Cruiser looks like a ship that's just begging to have new Experimental Retrofit upgrades come with it if it were to be released for Armada.

Yikes, this thing is almost ugly enough to be a rebel ship.

It's probably Corellian.

That's as good a reason as any for it to be as ugly as a rebel ship.

Thanks to WigTii for highlighting the inspiration for this ship. I think its great that they have gone back to the original Star Wars concept art: The Source is with them!

I think it is okay but only if the antenna dishes have a legitimate function. Are we looking at a part of wave 9?

Each satellite dish is a death star super laser. The ship is actually 120km long, and can destroy 3 planets at once. Han Solo destroys the ship with a banana, while combing his hair and smirking. The banana was bought with $1.50 that he borrowed from Jabba, but with Jabba's 1,200% APR by the time he remembers about the debt he can only pay it off by being encased in carbonite.

Sounds about right for Disney.

"I've outrun Imperial starships. Not the local bulk cruisers mind you, I'm talking about the big Corellian ships now " - han Solo, ANH.

why do i get the feeling these sorts of ships are what he meant, and that the "bulk cruisers" would mean Gozanti's and Arquitens? (which would have been the standard imperial patrolships for the region. Han was just unlucky that Vader and the Devastator had shown up, and called in some other ISD's in the process.

Errrrmm....

Well, with major design enhancements, maybe it won't be anymore?

WHAT THE ACTUAL **** IN THE NAME OF LOVECRAFT, CTUHULHU AND ALL THE OLD ONES IS THAT!!!

maybe its a small ship with experimental retrofit slots

That design looks weird... that model just looks bad.

Again, I wonder if they will look better in the movie?

There is some concept art for the hauler over here:

https://www.starwarsnewsnet.com/

Honestly doesn’t look too bad from Better angles.

Looks like an AT-DP and a weird prototype of Kylo’s shuttle had a deformed child...

I'm curious why they didn't just use Zeta class shuttles if they needed a cargo ship? Its already been well established in Rogue One.

I for one LOVE the Arrestor cruiser. It fits right there alongside the Gozanti and the Arquitens.

The Imperials need another small scale vessel anyways and this will look better the smaller it is.

First concept art for opening scene, with stormtroopers making a jump to Leia's disintegrating ship. Note that everyone has a lightsaber, per very early concept art.

Here's my big hope for this guy showing up, though...

If Disney really is tapping the "concept art" THAT hard, to get this ship, it means we might possibly get a re-canonization of the Victory-class (currently in limbo - we've had a name-drop of it in canon sources, so far, but only once, and with no details on what it should look like)

FWIW, I'd really hoped that the Solo movie would show us the Victory-class, given it seemed like it should be set in the Outer Rim or Corporate Sector or whatever, but...seems they didn't go that way, based on the trailers to date. Still...one can hope!

So I definitely like the design. Its an oddball look for the SW universe, sure, but I don't see any reason why it couldn't work.

Arrestor? So what is it gonna do against a ship? Go full oblivion style and yell "STOP, you violated the law!"

I love this as a possibility. Working in conjunction with the two comments I quoted below, which state it may be a medium ship, and it could very well be a buff for Konstantine. I'd LOVE that. Run it next to the interdictor with g8s, both with phylons, and the arrestor has the ability to grant navigate raid tokens to ships....

Yes it looks ugly but we havent seen it in action yet, that could change perspectives. Plus if it brings cool mechanics to Armada I care less about the looks (AFM2 anyone?).

This could bring some cool anti squad mechanics to the game as well as Interdictor Buffs. Plus it looks like it would work well in a wave with the Braha'tok-class gunship. While I would prefer a Rebel Medium based ship it does have the making for a small ship wave.

Edit after second look:

This may not be a small ship looking at it again. It looks like fighter bays next to the rear dishes and that bridge in the back looks too big for a small ship.

Armada players are salty about Relay, and Star Wars says, "I hear you. Konstantine buff incoming."

Tractor beam ship huzzah!

(I hear you on the aesthetic. Looks like a Lego kit with its awkward perpendicular lines mixed with circles. Raw and not very polished.)

If it's a "cruiser" then it may end up being larger than a small ship. Could possibly be a medium ship... which I'd have little problem with. We still need the Carrion Spike to fill the role of a small ship too.

Eh...the Arquitens is a "Light Cruiser" and is small base. And the Gladiator is a Star Destroyer and still a small base. Heck, one of the two Gozantis is a 'cruiser', and that's a small-base flotilla ...

Right, and this one is a "Cruiser" - notice the lack of "Light", which is why I'm saying it could be Medium.

I mean.... shouldn't a CRUISER be heavier than a LIGHT CRUISER?
