Fair point, but the bulk of my post stands. A new set of Home One variants and some titles that provide more flexibility (experimental slot?) seem better than a 4th large design. The on screen shots show the Wingless Liberty to be the same size as home one.
But I would like an 75-80ish point medium fighting ship for Rebels.

I would rather avoid more duplicate large ships at this point honestly. While the Chimera is nice, it is expensive and a ship we already have.
I think a new Medium ship would be cool. Would be nice to have a Dcap Ion platform for the rebels. Which is why I would recommend the MC40a Light Cruiser.

I’m with long neck over here. I’d like to see a medium based ion platform for the rebs, and something itty bitty for the imps. Maybe that Cardiac Arrestor Cruiser
Just to add some perspective to the arguments for and against the MC80A, the Munificent, and the Venator.
Also worth noting that Mel's MC80A is noticeably wider along the center of the ship compared to the FFG MC80 Liberty, so I would expect an FFG version to be narrower. Also noteworthy, even though the MC80A is longer than the VSD, it definitely has less volume.
Or even some new cards which gives the old faithful Assault Frigate some specialisation and new lease on life.

Yeah im so glad that they take all this old concept art THAT WAS REJECTED FOR A REASON and put it into the new movies... *sarcasm off*
Dont get me wrong, there is a lot of cool concept art out there that at the time just didnt fit into the story but also a lot of it was rejected because it was just crap. The few original designs we got, mainly in Ep8 and some in Ep7 were all pretty ugly and uninspired. Aside from the U-Wing and maybe the MC75 there just isnt a lot of beautiful new ships in the new movies so far. Now we get this monstrosity ... meh.
I dont know, they clearly have some great concept artists like Ryan Church working on the new movies (check him out, his work is amazing) but for some reason the directors/storywriters fail to inspire creative and beautiful designs. I guess when the story is a rehash/unneeded the same goes for new designs.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think the FO star destroyers are great, and look enough like the Eclipse SSD to hope that we see it on screen in episode 9. While I can see what they were trying to do with the rebel bombers, the final execution of the concept was highly questionable. I know a guy who argues the opposite, that the new Star Destroyers are emo-garbage and the bombers are amazing because they look like they should be in Flash Gordon.
If the designers of the new starships had been more creative, or made them 'beautiful', people would complain that "it doesn't look imperial enough", or that it disrespects the canon or somesuch. While there is more leeway with rebel ships that aren't Mon Calamari, the designers of new concepts, locations and characters for a Star Wars movie really cannot win, and cannot keep everyone happy, so they seem to go with what satisfies their own aesthetics combined with what will make the most money because at least then they won't lose their job.

I’m frankly shocked at the negative reaction here. You have to compensate for the toy-inating of it being a hot wheels, but overall I think it’s a really good design. It captures the aesthetic of imperial ships without being another pizza slice. The dishes, whether they are sensors, tractors, or weapons, could be toned down a bit, but there is precedent.
Would much rather get this than the lancer or carrack, or overbite dreadnought.

My initial hate has mellowed a bit, which is not to say I fully approve of it.
As a ship full of sharp angles that we empire fans know & love it’s not the worst. The excessive dishes just kill the whole design for me.

The original concept looks weird now, but remember the aesthetic hadn't been established then. Plenty of 60s and 70s era space ship designs in sci fi had odd spindly bits and dishes. Being in a vacuum means you don't need to streamline or anything, and if your protection is based on fantastical energy shielding you don't need to presume slabs of armour to protect you.
It's not like all the ship designs make sense now anyway. The Star Destroyer, for example, with all it's talk of its dagger shape enabling it to concentrate it's firepower forward... can't do exactly that. Based on performance on screen it seems to favour broadsides (as do most of the large ships, which makes sense, as George Lucas said he wanted to evoke "Age of Sail" naval combat), and the main batteries get in the way of each other if you want to fire straight ahead.
Now, I have never been a fan of weapons in the shape of dishes (as the original design), so I wouldn't really want to see this do that, but as an update of the design, presuming the dishes are some kind of tractor beam or interdictor array I don't see a major problem with it. That or some kind of comms ship...
Doesn't stop it being ugly of course, but ugly can have its place.
I have to say, other than Rogue One, the ships made for FA and TLJ feel very... uninspired. It's great to go back to concept art, but I don't think it should be a direct rip.
That being said, I kind of dig the design, but keeping those huge dishes seems... weird. But is it really that different from the Gozanti with the surveillance package?
Honestly it's a better design for a space station, a spy station at that. Seriously turn it so the dishes face down, add a something where the engine is boom star base

For me it’s that nose. It’s way too long. Cut it in half and I think the whole design would flow better.

... and those pantscrap crazy, wonderfully terrible designs made of desperation should absolutely make it into XWMG someday. I want a scum faction TIE fighter cockpit mated to Y wing engines. All the worst features of everything.

Back to the topic: if the ship turns out to be a sort of electronic warfare listening post type vessel or some form of anti-smuggler/pirate design with those dishes being anything but weapons, I’m fine with it.
