This will make a fine addition to my collection.

The barge is at 4091 pre-orders out of the 5000 needed before April 3rd to get it into production. You have 5 days to put your order in if you want one. If it doesn’t make it the 5000, Hasbro has said they won’t make it. We’re only 909 barge sales away from bringing the 4 foot monster home. These won’t be sold at retail and this is your only chance to own this epic display piece.

After learning how some influencers are pushing people to take out loans to pre-order the barge I can't support it.

It's really not worth getting people into debt just so you can have a toy.

If only 5000 of these are ever made, people will be able to flip these for profit in the future. I’m not suggesting anyone take out a loan for one but, if properly cared for, this thing will never lose value on the collectibles market.

Or the only people who want them and can afford them already purchased them. It won't likely lose value but neither will it appreciate to some great degree. The market for this so far is only 4091 folks many of whom likely pre-ordering strictly with the idea of re-selling. If all 5000 were already spoken for or spoken for much more quickly than they have been thus far maybe you'd have a point on being able to flip it as the demand would be greater than the supply.

I don't have anyplace to just store that in its box in the shipping box for future re-sale, let alone display it and enjoy it. Hard pass.

It's not available in all countries. There's a market out there that simply doesn't have access to the Haslab program. People in excluded countries are asking people to buy one for them and ship it to them. The problem is not demand, it's execution. Hasbro announced this in February and the campaign ends in April. Not everyone who wants one can come up with $500 in such a short time frame. A lot of collectors budget for large purchases but this was rolled out poorly and with limited availability. There's zero chance this doesn't appreciate in value. The market for Star Wars collectibles is vast and long-living. Years from now, people who missed the boat on this, for whatever reason, may be in the market for one and they're not going to get it for anywhere near $499.99.

It's a fallacy to think just because something is expensive and in limited numbers that it must go up in value.

Like any investment there's always the risk your wasting your money on a lemon, and if you can't easily come up with 500 dollars you certainly shouldn't be taking out a loan which will end up costing you more than that.

I didn't know this wasn't available in other countries. I have to think at least a sizable portion of the now 4217 is with the idea of selling them to the UK or Japan and such.

And I just looked at the Haslab "what's included." The 64 page book you get ships the day after the pre-orders close. I am now not entirely convinced this thing isn't going through no matter what. The books have to already be completed.

Maybe it will turn into that Lego Limited Millennium Falcon but... This is the kind of thing you can afford now or never.

You could be right weisguy119 but I'll remain skeptical.

Nothing is guaranteed but I've been collecting Star Wars items for decades and I'd be hard pressed to find a single item in my modest collection that didn't increase in value after its production run ended and availability became scarce (I don't own any Jar Jar items).

That said, I'm only buying one barge and I don't plan to resell. Whenever I tell my wife how much some of the stuff in my collection is going for on eBay she always tells me it doesn't matter because I'm never going to sell any of it and she's right. I'm a collector, not an investor. It's just nice to know that my hobby does in fact reliably appreciate in value. Someday, I'll give it all to my daughter and she can do with it as she likes. I'll be sure to tell her not to sell it at a garage sale on the cheap, though.

The barge has been backed. It will go into production. Get yours before 11:59 EST on April 3rd if you want one.

I backed it on the first day of the run. Now I am debating getting a second.

That Imperial looks like it has NAVY Commando Features, though apparently Inferno Squadron are NAVY Commandos.

@Imperial Advisor Arem Heshvaun I'm not sure where to put this, so it's going in here:

The Offical SOLO merchandise on Design by Hümans has this interesting T-Shirt design.

This is interesting as that craft isn't one we've seen before.

If anyone has any clue what on earth that is, feel free to tell me.

Link to the site below in case anyone believes this is just fanart:

@Indy_com I literally was posting that at the same exact time as you. I was veryfying if the shirt was an official license, which it apparently is.

I guess great Imperial minds think alike.
