Flesh Ripper Special Ability

By gforce200, in Runewars

If a player has four flesh rippers in a battle and gets two special ability icons during a battle, do the abilities stack so that the Flesh Rippers now have 6 life or is the second one ignored?

If they don't stack, it seems like having multiple Rippers would be kinda pointless. If it did stack, they become some pretty unkillable creatures.

The special ability says that when triggered they go to having another fixed value of hps, not that they gain additional HPs....trigger it multiple times and that just means they trigger multiple times to the same point, so its not cumulative.

The benefit of multiple Fleshrippers is they all move fast, they are rectangle based which seems a little better at fighting to me, they attack at initiative 1 and you get several chances for the ability to actually trigger and actually be useful. Only a percentage of the fate cards hae the crystal ball icon on them, more draws is more chance it happens, if it doesn't your force just became a LOT weaker.

Multiple orbs doesn't do much with Flesh Rippers, but having multiple Flesh Rippers is still good. For one thing, it increases your chance of getting at least one Orb (remember, there are only 6 orbs in the deck for Rectangles). But Rectangle units are just better at fighting in general than triangle units; they will on average do more damage and routs than Triangles. And since they are fast, it's easy to bring them into battle. And since they fight FIRST, they are good for cleaning up some of your opponents units, possibly before they get a chance to fight.

Cool, thanks for the timely replies. We have an ongoing game and I know the question is about to come up.

It seems to me that more battles on won or lost on the strength of standing units after the combat sequence is over. Flesh Rippers, unlike Beserkers are on of the units that is nice to have multiples of. They are hard to kill off, giving you a better chance of winning the battle.

Berserkers are nice to have in swarms, too! That way, you can sacrifcie one or two of them with Orbs and do some massive damage, especially if the opposing army has very few high-health units.
