Tarkin Token Town

By Deathseed, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

It's an idea. Not sure if it's a good idea, but it's an idea.

For casual games it will be fun....

......

.... maybe.

You have 2 activations.

Only a small bid.

Almost nil anti fighter.

2 bloated targets.

In my meta youd be eaten alive. By fighters and by first/last/last/last/last.

Have fun?

Spinal & XI7 on the Cymoon, XI7 on the ISD2. Loose Disposable Capacitors as they are only available to small-medium ships.

Only 2 activations could do with a Strategic adviser and I would drop one of the expensive fighters for a cheap flotilla.

Relentless, QLTs and even the Intel officer can go for points to play with.

Expanding on this ^

- change imp 2 to a cymoon?

- change admiral to vader (might not be what you want to do,just an option) then u can lose LS

- lose mando and jendon for 5 TIEs? Really just change ur entire sqd list would be my opinion but end of day its up to you.

- disclaimer: obvious but ill say it anyway, dont fall into the trap of filling every upgrade slot

- SaD and a flotilla (with jamming fields? Then run ties with howlrunner and dengar?) with saved points

I love Tarkin and have been trying to make him work. But I don't think dual ISD is the right way to go about it.

Think about what Tarkin is actually giving you. You're currently paying 42 points for the ability to get 2 tokens per turn. Is that really worth it?

Quite right. You could take Wulff & Aresko to get tokens and then get Motti's hull bonus or Jerjerrods super turning on top of that.

Vader is good on Cymoons but with only 2 combat ships even he isn't worth the points. 2 ISD2s with leading shots and Motti/Moff-JJ are better.

Vader is good with 2 cheap GT Cymoons and 2 Arquitens. 4 combat ships gets lots of rerolling dice to kill opponents quickly at long range.

I admittedly rarely think about the meta and loathe the tournament scene in any game :)

So I just make lists that seem thematic or fun to experiment with.

Winning and losing are irrelevant to me.

/playing with my plastic soldiers is good enough for me

That's a fair point, though I honestly pay very little effort to min-maxing things.

When did Heavy Turbolasers become worthwhile?

And why combine them with XI7?

Because I don't keep up with meta, and don't bother to theorycraft much of anything.

Not min-maxing. Just not really using the admiral. I'd offer the same caution if you threw up a Sloane list with no squadrons.

Oh no, I wasn't trying to make accusations or assign labels. I was just stating that min-maxing as a "thing" is something I scarcely bother with. No harm intended.

I'm kinda in these things for the spectacle more than the competition (seeing legions of plastic space ships on the table makes me happy enough; I'm a simple'ish creature).

Where's Intensify Firepower on the Cymoon?

No seriously, it should come stapled to the ship if you're using Tarkin.

Disposable Capacitors can't go on an ISD?

I think this fleet would have an uphill battle. Two activations isn't enough.

Lol, I love how you put that, and noted.

I may have to staple that to my head to remember it though.

Show's how closely I read that card.

I'm so casual, I'm in my underwear.
