Because I haven't played in eighteen months and refuse/cannot afford to keep buying new expansions to remain competitive.
Also because flying "meta" lists has always bored me.
I suck because........
- no guts no glory
- my favorite pilot got bombed into oblivion
- I can't fly a bomber
- I second guess myself
- I can't fly the same list every time I play
- I just try stuff just because
- even when I lose I am still having fun
- Variance

I think the point of this is to say why we are "bad" at X-Wing, meaning why we don't win tournaments or why people judge us badly. Personally, I'm actually a pretty good X-Wing player (I was, anyway), but because I won't fly Miranda/Nym or the latest flavour of the month list, I don't do so well. Thus, on paper, I'm bad at the game.

I am bad because:
* I have fun flying jank
* I have fun flying specific substandard ships like the G1A
* I will evidently spend however much on individual ships but I balk at the Raider for Palp
* I actually have more fun cracking jokes about how the game is going when I'm losing than I do just winning
* I don't play enough

I'm bad at X-wing because I can't let my TIE swarm go!
Though now that I'm at college just playing casual instead of tournaments it's been pretty great flying TIE Swarm and tons of Jank.

Bad is probably an overstatement, but as long as I keep flying XXX lists (either type) there will always be a limit on how well I can do.
I'm saving the dream for the next wave though.
Because studying things like “rock placement” are a total bore. Just want to blow things up.

- do not learn from my mistakes
- do not know how to place my rocks
- use a different list, EVERY game
- have no fav ship
- underestimate the opposing list every time
- I don't know how to fly Miranda effectively
- Shadowcasters die when I fly them.
- I never get damage through on Shadowcasters or Miranda
I am bad at XWM because. . .
- I staple VI to everything (but now that it's limited to 4 per squad, I'm getting better)
- Never fly meta
- Set my dials in such a way that assumes high PS is moving first
- Do well for first the first half of the game, then pull some bonehead maneuver that tosses the game for sure
- Never fly the same list twice
- Build for theme and never for efficiency (a holdover from M:TG -- The Curse of the Goblin Deck Mentality).
