Because, aside from my triple Imp aces list, I constantly switch to the new idea I had instead of practicing with one.
Why Are You Bad At X-Wing?
I'm bad because
I only use ships that die in one bad roll.
I sometimes ask myself, is it ok to not evade with the interceper (The anser is always evade)
I sometimes prioritize attacking over defending with the above ships
I dont like running stealth device

- YOLO
- I misjudge 1 banks
- I generally resist the meta
- I joust when I shouldn't
- I'd just as well throw the rocks onto the table
- I don't like leaving upgrade slots empty
- It's far easier to remember the mistakes than what I did right
- I forget interactions and tokens
- I shrug and say 'how bad can it be'
- Then it's really bad
Thought I'd come back to this a few months later and give a little update!
I took a lot of this to heart and really thought about it.
At a recent tournament I used QD/Vess/TLT Aggressor - Not full meta but hardly a weird mix.
I gave thought to asteroid placement based on the ships I was facing. When I faced double Ghost I made a L shape, leaving a big space I knew the Ghosts would want to be in and I wouldn't.
Which led to me BEING PATIENT, sticking to the right side of the rocks, peeping out when it made sense, and disengaging when it didn't favour me. It nearly worked too!
That in turn led to a very big lesson. I was disappointed, but I soon took on board all of the positives in that game and concentrated on them. It's the best I've ever flown and I should be pleased.
So...things can change. A little bit bit of thought and a little bit of patience, goes a long way.
I'm bad at X-wing because I:
1) lack a natural talent for the game (my spatial awareness has never been good);
2) have no great desire to play competitively, so I don't practice anywhere near enough to "git gud".
Indeed, in the three-and-a-half years since I bought my first core set, I have never played a full 100/6 game.
I don't like to blow my own trumpet, but I am amazing at crashing into things though!

the original slam action before there was a SLAM action
- Because I really prefer the 'faceless hordes' of a generic TIE swarm to aces.
- Because I make a mistake in planned movement order and cause a train-wreck of sequential collisions
- Because I don't KILL MIRANDA DONI FIRST .

They still have intel-agent effects in the game! I'm allowed to be good!!!

Force sense was among the most basic of Force abilities . It could be used to feel another being's feelings, the future, ripples in the Force caused by momentous or traumatic events, impending danger and the presence of the dark side . A more concentrated, more directed form of this ability was likely how Jedi and Miralukas were able to see others without relying on their physical senses. Closely related also to force sense and force sight was precognition , the ability to hear direction and whispered promptings from the Force about what lay ahead in the immediate future.
.... I no longer have access to expertise
.... I still believe in RZ1 A-wings
.... I still think Jake Farrel is the best ace in the game
.... I still think Soontir is invincible
.... I don't believe in Athersprites
.... I love flying Shera/Wedge/Jan in the biggest glass cannon list (similar to my Wedge/Norra/Jan list in 1.0)
.... I cannot mix and match Resistance and Rebellion crew/ships
.... because I just am.

The Circle of Strife continues
Because I am unlucky with dice.
I really suck at X-Wing but I think it’s because I hardly ever get to play. I might get an average of one game per month. It’s hard to get better without playing.
We have no community where I live. I’m currently the only player at my store. Closest other player I know is an hour drive away. Closest regular community is two hours away.
Self-imposed restrictions.
Gonna chalk up a new one: "being completely foreign to the CiS, the most alien faction in the entire game both mechanically and (arguably) literally (scum probably takes crown there)
Seriously, these are such giant weirdos that I'm gonna have to cut myself a LOT of slack for the games I'll DOUBTLESSLY lose.
The droids have blue turns but no blue banks
Struts are like having two different dials, not even taking into account the fact that you can avoid being stuck taking off with a 2-foward simply by rolling off the rock...
Calculate, networked calculations, and ESC make things a positioning and resource management extravaganza!
The broken force combos that Hate enables + the "joy" of flying a single arc, large base ship that can simultaneously support and kick-*** (palp stress + Palp purple coordinate with Dooku pilot ability; hate enabling Dookceew to trigger repeatedly in the same round) etc
Seriously, CiS are baffling in the best possible way. Gonna take ages to stop losing just because I forgot to use like half the ability interactions

And once you get them down you're going to miss them when you cruise your ARCs around the map.

Gotta own multiple factions to experience their myriad joys!
i get stuck on a certain style of play and this dictates what squads i build. need to make myself try new styles and mix things up. playing just one faction limits ur options a fair bit but thats part of the challenge.
