How Do You Build Oicunn?

Once the Reaper comes out, I'm thinking of trying out Oicunn with Krennic and Palpatine, accompanied by either Vader or Fel (I'll probably play around with both until I settle on a favorite). So, with that in mind, how do you typically build Oicunn? I'm thinking of doing Intimidation and Anti-Pursuit Lasers to maximize his ability, but I'm wondering if there are better options out there for him. Maybe Daredevil instead of Intimidation? But that means investing more points for the Dauntless title, and probably an Engine Upgrade to avoid the Daredevil damage. And with all three crew slots filled by Krennic and Palpatine, there's no reliable way to shed the two stress every turn from the Daredevil/Dauntless tactic.

Edit: For what it's worth, I'm thinking of building Soontir with PTL, AT, and Shield Upgrade instead of Stealth Device. Coupled with Krennic, that gives Soontir 3/3/3/2, and the ability to strip shields with his blank die results. I honestly think this might do him more good than a Stealth Device, as 3/3/3/2 hiding behind 2 focus, an evade, and Autothrusters seems more survivable than 3/4/3/1, due to the auto-damage options still out and about these days.

If I were building a list with oicunn and Soontir with the upgrades you mentioned, I'd go with something like this:

61 Oicunn w/ Expert Handling, Palpatine, Krennic, Dauntless, Ion Projector.
36 Soontir w/ PtL, Shield, Royal, AT.
3 Initiative.

Palp + Ion Projector combos to really hurt a small-based ship you'r facing. I've used a similar build paired with Whisper, and it worked really well. Expert handling lets you setup rams fairly easily, and can make it difficult for your opponent to avoid a bump with oicunn.

Hi I was and in fact I'm still playing Oicunn in local tournaments. Ion projector is really good coz aces are still afraid of it (in comparison to Anti-pursuit lasers that is a little bit better in this case ) but ships like mirri, nym, nora, x7 and so on hate it. For ept i will choose one out of:

- trick shot for economy

- intimidation this one is most fun but least competitive

- lone wolf for rerolls

- predator for same but if u think u won't ve able to keep this r2 distance or u dont take title because lone wolf really like this focuses

- expert handling as a meta call and to give some extra mobility on the 2nd round of engage

If u aren't playing kylo u don't have to get title but on oicunn it's always a nice upgrade.

I was also expertimenting with this bomb slot ;) and I think Oicunn prefers classic bombs over mines because that somehow counters flying over him and doesn't take his action.

Overall oicunn is great utility tank with a little adition of "unblockable" dmg and he base his tankiness on 16 health paired with preventing shoots by bumping.

I'd considered Deathtroopers for Oicunn also.

Daredevil Oicunn is just plain stupid fun. He does really want an Inspiring Recruit, though...

I like using Ion projectors with palp on Oicunn. Depending on initiative, you can keep a small ship in place whilst Oicunn grinds him to death like he is a bad boy.

Daredevil+ gunner + Vader+ IR + EU and dauntless...

Pretty much autokills anything with 5hp or less that you can ram.

Ram 1

Daredevil 2

Att: hit or crit 3+ Vader for 4... or misses: Vader, att again Vader + any hits/crits

With the big base and EU there really isn't anywhere they can go to get out of range 3 so you can just Vader them again

My record for ram damage in a single game is 16.

I'm fond of this build...

Oicunn, ruthlessness, boshek, agent kallus, mara jade, plasma torps, dauntless, ion projector (59pts).

As he closes, torps. After that its just a lot of auto damage for the enemy plus stress, and even control; it doesn't much matter who hits who, there will be consequences. I bump you, still get an action, you take damage, then I shoot, ruthlessness. You activate after I bump you, you may not like the maneuver you get stuck with. You bump me, ion projector, which makes it easier for me to hit you next time (assuming the angle is favorable). In all cases, stress if you didn't have it, which further makes you more predictable. Just make sure your wingman stays away from oicunn's target.

Great for breaking up formations.

I typically use the following build:

Captain Oicunn + Ruthlessness + Mara Jade + Ysanne Isard + Dauntless (54)

(Okay not really unless you’re absolutely doing the double deci niche build. Otherwise try ruthlessness+dauntless title+ ion projectors or anti pursuit lasers+ your choice of crew).

I'm using expertise, mara jade, inspiring recruit, mercenary copilot, engine upgrade. 56 points, leaving room for 2 Nu squad missileboats.

his job is to go in and bump or block stuff, then take modified shots with expertise at whatever else you can take a shot at. the engine upgrade is essential for the initial joust and then getting position behind the enemy, or running away if necessary

If I'm supporting an ace with a Krennic-Oicunn, I think I'd go Emperor/Ion Projector. The chance to tarpit an enemy small-base ship seems strong.

Depending on what other text there may or may not be with Optimized Prototype, going Gunner/Vader always has an appeal to it. Obviously, if the condition goes away if Krennic dies, Gunner/Vader is a bad idea.

Would flying Kenkirk make any sense? Lone Wolf + Emperor + Krennic is going to come in at 59 points, enough for a Kallus-Whisper, and ought to be a lot tankier than most Decimators. Adding Engines brings it to 63, still room for Soontir and a 2-point bid.
