Norra on a Budget-ish

By j_man_04, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Most Norra builds sit at around 40 or 41 points (expertise/tail gunner, PTL/C-3PO/Kyle).

Saw essentially gives you an offensive focus, and he's cheaper than the other crew.

With that said, I was thinking of this build: Lone wolf is a weaker, yet somewhat reliable way to get that defensive evade that you can use against all attacks, while also helping you land hits since you will be spending a TL to get the focus.

Norra Wexley (29)
Lone Wolf (2)
Saw Gerrera (1)
R2-D2 (4)
Vectored Thrusters (2)
Alliance Overhaul (0)

This Norra is pretty much all-offense. Not gonna be the late, end-game Norra that most people go for. This is one that is meant to tear through a ship before being torn up herself. But it saves a few points that can go towards her Wingmate(s) while still being pretty effective.

I'd honestly rather take PTL. Otherwise, I think Saw is gonna be a lovely and brutal crew on Norra dear.

If you want a flexible norra who can flip-flop between offence and defence, Lone Wolf/Rey isn't a bad pairing.

I might like the build, but you need one **** of a target next to Norra, just so your opponent doesn't single her out and murder her all alone...

I've recently fallen for Norra pretty hard, and even with Saw coming... I still think this is my preferred way to fly her.

Rey (2)
Flight-Assist Astromech (1)

saves 5 points off yours, still hits like a truck, moves quite a bit faster into the engagement, can keep up with Miranda or Gunboats as they try and slam away, and can also roll to get things in arc. I've never felt effective using Norra until I slapped this build together. Other benefits are the PS9 skill, and that she's only 33 points! Sure she doesn't regen, but in this build she is built to be a hammer. Goes well when you have a second hammer and support.

Norra with VI, Saw, FAA, and AO would be a truly cruel and viscous 32 point ship...

I like this version of Norra, but lately been running her with VI, Rey, R2-D2, and VT. 38 points I think.

I'm leaning towards an Expertise Norra to fly with Rey as a counter to all the Fenn stuff going on.

Maybe something like this? I know it's not the best crew for Norra, but Tactician at least shuts down Pt. 1 of Maul's ability.

Rey (45)
Expertise (4)
Kanan Jarrus (3)
Finn (5)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Millennium Falcon (TFA) (1)

Norra Wexley (29)
Expertise (4)
Tactician (2)
Flight-Assist Astromech (1)
Vectored Thrusters (2)
Alliance Overhaul (0)

I put Jan Ors on Norra instead. allows me to take an Evade with Rey for defense. Don't know if the math makes sense vs a focus token if somethings in arc... the perfecting thing would be to get both focus/evade onto her somehow using the crew slot form Norra...but I don't think that's possible lol.

You could swap Kanan for RecSpec... That's about the only way I can think of.

then I loose the action on the flip... which when I was flying the fatter Rey version (c-3po/old title) I found it doesn't fit my aggressive play style to not be slooping.

True. Though I found I only use the sloop maybe once or twice a game when I'm flying Rey. So I can focus/evade nearly every turn with the RecSpec/Jan combo.

Just a matter of playing style I guess.
