35 point ship action

By Sasebo75, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hello All,

So next week, as our X-Wing League ends, we have a game we play called Furball. Eight people on one mat, maximum 35 points small base ships without using Lone Wolf. Timed for 75 minutes each game, destroy as much ships as you can. 2 points for a kill, -1 point if you destroy yourself or fly off the board. When you are destroyed, you respawn at the edges of the board. Free for all action. So last league season I used Sabine (Attack shuttle) with Intensity, Ion Cannon Turret, Chewbacca and Hull Upgrade. I ended up winning that game barely (got lucky on the last shot with a unmodified Ion Cannon shot). I wanted to use Sabine again but maybe change up Hull Upgrade for Targeting Computer to be more offensive. Any thoughts on this or do you have a suggestion of what I should run with 35 points?

Anthony

Here's a couple silly 35 point ships. Nera for 360 torpedo launching and intensity/PTL jake allows for some crazy token staking.

Nera Dantels (26)
Deadeye (1)
Fire-Control System (2)
Proton Torpedoes (4)
Extra Munitions (2)
Guidance Chips (0)

Jake Farrell (24)
Push the Limit (3)
Harpoon Missiles (4)
Intensity (2)
Guidance Chips (0)
A-Wing Test Pilot (0)

Seems like a pretty potent list. You've effectively turned yourself into a T-70 with all those extra health upgrades, retain Sabine's slipperiness, and still have a turret shot if someone dodges your arc.

I would suggest looking into replacing Intensity with Push The Limit, to REALLY take advantage of Sabine's abilities. With that, after Sabine's initial boost/barrel roll, you can PTL into a new action, then perform a green maneuver to clear stress, and STILL get to do your perform action step. To free up the point, your idea of a Targeting Computer works perfectly:

  • Sabine Wren (Attack Shuttle)
    • Push The Limit
    • Ion Cannon Turret
    • Chewbacca
    • Targeting Computer

I'm thinking of running a pretty janky and trollish StressBug to mess with everyone else on the table:

  • Ezra Bridger (Sheathipede)
    • Snap Shot
    • Luke Skywalker
    • R3-A2
    • Shield Upgrade

This could be fun:

"Snap" Wexley (28)
Wired (1)
Plasma Torpedoes (3)
Targeting Astromech (2)
Primed Thrusters (1)
Guidance Chips (0)

Might I suggest something truly crazy (stupid)?

Palob Godalhi in a HWK 290!

Intensity, Recon Spec, Vectored Thrusters, Moldy Crow, turret & illicit of your choice.

The end result? A mountain of focus, an evade every round when you Barrel Roll, and you can steal Evade tokens for defense or Focus tokens so that your biggest threat is rolling bare dice.

@emeraldbeacon yes, I am a fellow AEG player ;)

  • Sabine Wren (TIE Fighter)
    • Sabine's Masterpiece
    • Push The Limit
    • Kanan Jarrus
    • Cloaking Device
    • Engine Upgrade

Decloak, Boost and/or Barrel Roll (in either order), perform any non-koiogran maneuver, then perform a boost or barrel roll if you haven't already.

Watch your opponents suffer multiple brain haemorrhages trying to figure out where the buggery you're going this time.

  • Talonbane Cobra
    • Vaksai
    • Predator
    • Cloaking Device
    • Stygium Particle Accelerator
    • Stealth Device
    • Vectored Thrusters

A pretty classic talonbane, now updated for Vaksai

  • Darth Vader
    • TIE/x1
    • Veteran Instincts
    • Advanced Targeting Computer
    • Engine Upgrade

You can't get much more classic!

  • Sigma Squadron Pilot
    • Sensor Jammer
    • Rebel Captive
    • Lightweight Frame or Stygium Particle Accelerator

The most unappealing target possible in a massed furball. Be the first to attack him, and you will end up stressed and have to spend your focus token, meaning everyone else will get to dog-pile you afterwards.

Guri with PTL, Autothrusters, SV Mk.II, Virago, and Fire Control System. In a massed Furball, you'll have a better chance of getting R1 on someone, for the bonus focus.

Warden K-Wing with Sabine and Experimental Interface, Extra Munitions, Proximity Mines (can't afford Clusters), and either Ion Bombs or Seismic Charges to taste. Go Go SLAM bombing.

  • Countess Ryad - Lean and efficient
    • TIE/x7
    • PTL
  • Horton Salm - Regen on the cheap
    • Twin Laser Turret
    • Chopper
    • Extra Munitions
    • Bomb Loadout
    • Guidance Chips
  • Major Rhymer - You sure you want to shoot me?
    • Snap Shot
    • Lightweight Frame
    • TIE Shuttle
    • Rebel Captive
    • Tactician
  • Viktor Hel - Trusting the green dice?
    • Expertise
    • Vaksai
    • Harpoon Missile
    • Scavenger Crane
    • Stealth Device
    • Guidance Chips
    • Munitions Failsafe
  • Captain Jostero - Better hope I hit
    • Saturation Salvo
    • Vaksai
    • Cruise Missiles
    • Hot Shot Blaster
    • Stealth Device
    • Shield Upgrade
    • Munitions Failsafe

Thanks guys, lots of options to pick from.

Anthony
