Wave 7 was the wrong answer

As long as they don't come out with an expansion called The End Times , I think we're good.

But don't you want Darth Archeon to destroy the universe for...reasons?

Before you be so derisive, have you actually looked into what that means? We considered Wave8 the golden age of Xwing. From there, the imbalances got to the worst point in Xwing history and the first of the multiple great errata's of Xwing. This is also the wave of the Jumpmaster and the Ghost.

Do you really know what I mean, or do you just want to ridicule me?

My take on your quote was: "This is the Golden Age of Armada and we are doomed. Who wants what fixed?"

This is just really funny to me. Have a sense of humor about it.

I've been told to have a sense of humor for people who have completely ill intentions for me making fun of what I said, and not thinking through it. Should I be happy that I have such wonderful people purposefully making derisive remarks at me?

It might better to ask you now. Did you mean no harm, think it was funny, and realize it was not so? If so, an oops, (not even a sorry is needed) is great to clear a miscommunication. "Have a sense of humor about it" is mostly meant to cover up ill feelings. Do you have ill feeling for me?

Turn! Turn! Turn! To every season, turn! Turn! Turn!

For one who has lived through the golden age of Xwing. Golden ages are signs of worst times.

Also again, who wants what nerfed, and what is this data? Since the last time got such a useless reply?

Good this is such a sad way to look at it. “Wow everything is awesome I guess its all about to turn to bantha poodoo”.

Enjoy the moment.

Golden Age is such a subjective word.
Some say the time of the republic was the golden age. And others say it was the time of the Empire.

And don't say we unless you have a schizophrenic disorder.
I don't consider Wave 8 as the golden gate of X-Wing :P .

O Deep Thought computer," he said, "the task we have designed you to perform is this. We want you to tell us...." he paused, "The Answer."
"The Answer?" said Deep Thought. "The Answer to what?"
"Life!" urged Fook.
"The Universe!" said Lunkwill.
"Everything!" they said in chorus.
Deep Thought paused for a moment's reflection.
"Tricky," he said finally.
"But can you do it?"
Again, a significant pause.
"Yes," said Deep Thought, "I can do it."
"There is an answer?" said Fook with breathless excitement.
"Yes," said Deep Thought. "Life, the Universe, and Everything. There is an answer. But, I'll have to think about it."
...
Fook glanced impatiently at his watch.
“How long?” he said.
“Seven and a half million years,” said Deep Thought.
Lunkwill and Fook blinked at each other.
“Seven and a half million years...!” they cried in chorus.
“Yes,” declaimed Deep Thought, “I said I’d have to think about it, didn’t I?"

[Seven and a half million years later.... Fook and Lunkwill are long gone, but their descendents continue what they started]

"We are the ones who will hear," said Phouchg, "the answer to the great question of Life....!"
"The Universe...!" said Loonquawl.
"And Everything...!"
"Shhh," said Loonquawl with a slight gesture. "I think Deep Thought is preparing to speak!"
There was a moment's expectant pause while panels slowly came to life on the front of the console. Lights flashed on and off experimentally and settled down into a businesslike pattern. A soft low hum came from the communication channel.

"Good Morning," said Deep Thought at last.
"Er..good morning, O Deep Thought" said Loonquawl nervously, "do you have...er, that is..."
"An Answer for you?" interrupted Deep Thought majestically. "Yes, I have."
The two men shivered with expectancy. Their waiting had not been in vain.
"There really is one?" breathed Phouchg.
"There really is one," confirmed Deep Thought.
"To Everything? To the great Question of Life, the Universe and everything?"
"Yes."
Both of the men had been trained for this moment, their lives had been a preparation for it, they had been selected at birth as those who would witness the answer, but even so they found themselves gasping and squirming like excited children.
"And you're ready to give it to us?" urged Loonsuawl.
"I am."
"Now?"
"Now," said Deep Thought.
They both licked their dry lips.
"Though I don't think," added Deep Thought. "that you're going to like it."
"Doesn't matter!" said Phouchg. "We must know it! Now!"
"Now?" inquired Deep Thought.
"Yes! Now..."
"All right," said the computer, and settled into silence again. The two men fidgeted. The tension was unbearable.
"You're really not going to like it," observed Deep Thought.
"Tell us!"
"All right," said Deep Thought. "The Answer to the Great Question..."
"Yes..!"
"Of Life, the Universe and Everything..." said Deep Thought.
"Yes...!"
"Is..." said Deep Thought, and paused.
"Yes...!"
"Is..."
"Yes...!!!...?"
"Forty-two," said Deep Thought, with infinite majesty and calm

It was the autumn of getting paid by the word...

We were a week into wave 7, and this thread already declared it to be not enough.

Actually, no. If you re-read my original post, I argued that the problems were Relay and flotilla spam, and that Wave 7 made flotilla spam potentially worse. Wave 7 doesn't really address Relay, but the upgrades that it introduces give more options for countering squadrons overall. That makes it more likely that a change to Relay will result in an over-correction that reduces the effectiveness of squadrons enough to again reduce archetype diversity.

I stand corrected. I conflated the debate going on in this thread with your OP. You still only waited a week and a half to make your declaration, however.

Fun fact: In ASCII code, 42 is code for an asterisk, which means "anything you want it to be."(more or less) Therefore, the meaning of life is "anything you want it to be."

Well that's a relief. I was worried it was going to be something other than small plastic ships. Now I can sleep the sleep of the just. And by that I mean just asleep.
