I get a novella and sweet looking alt art cards for my favorite clan? That's a no-brainer insta-buy if I ever saw one!

Great art, and leading off the fiction with a strong author. Ofushikai looks how I would imagine. I was worried the sword in Tsukune's art was suppose to be Ofushikai, but it was a completely different style of sword than Ofushikai's description.

Is it the next cycle that will have Ofushikai or the clan pack? I had assumed it would be in the clan pack. Would make sense for them all to have an ancestral weapon. Though yeah it says in the article it's a preview card not in the clan pack.... what a weird choice.

But I'm guessing clan books + clan packs means clan packs will be much slower than we hoped, unless they have multiple already in production behind the scenes.

It’s in the next dynasty cycle. It’s not even legal until that cycle release, but I don’t care about that.

Looks awesome. I assume all clans will be getting something like this eventually.

That's the best news I've heard yet! I was assuming, because the Arkham books only come with one of each card that'd be the same here. Of course, it should be pointed out that you only need 1 of each card for a playset of the character specific cards in the Arkham LCG.

Can't wait for these to come out! I'm just so much more hyped for getting my area into L5R now!!

I found out about this and instantly went to pre-order it. I decided against it when I saw the shipping and handling was $19 for a $15 dollar book. Is this a mistake? I didn't see any other shipping options.

It's always been my experience that FFG's shipping costs are ridiculous, even for NA natives.

I agree with that but I've purchased both Arkham Horror Novellas and the S&H for them was around $7 each. This is nearly three times that and more than the cost of the actual book.

I'd gladly pre-order this even for the $7 S&H, which I thought was high. At $19 I'm going to have to find the book elsewhere.

Why not just get them from your local gaming store where you buy your L5R products?

I live in Spain so it’s either wait for them to translate it (and, for reference, they just published the Halloween special Better to be Certain a week ago or so) or pay international shipping costs, which could make this book easily 50$ for me.

Of course there’s always the “other” option... but I prefer to have the real deal between my hands, and also, frankly, I really want those promo cards.

I have no local gaming store. The nearest one is about a 60 mile drive. I get the vast majority of my gaming supplies from online stores.

I drive 48 miles to the store that gets the bulk of my business. Good local stores are worth supporting.

Anyone else just a touch disappointed they didn't use this opportunity to clarify whether Kosori works while bowed or not?

Bowed units don’t add their skill. I wouldn’t think her being at home should change this. But I’m always wrong on rules so who knows.

I am pleased by this.

If you can afford the gas and time. Mine's an hour away. They still get most of my business, although I'm only there when I can justify spending both...plus money. All of my painting supplies come from online.
