Director Krennic

By "Quickdraw", in X-Wing

Got me thinking about something REALLY silly.........

Kenkirk (44pts)

Determination (1pt)

Krennic (5pts)

Moff Jerjerrod (2 pts)

Ysanne Isard (4pts)

Hull Upgrade (3 pts) or possibly that mod that has to do with getting a shield back if you take 3+ damage..dont own it, cant remember name or points

darth Vader

tie x`1 (0pts)

Adv. Targeting Computer (1pt..because of title)

your choice of VI or juke.

Vader does all the work... decimator infuriates opponent by refusing to die.......

Yes I know... I did say it was silly......

I agree, but the really interesting question is if such a ship is a true alternative to a Palpshuttle. The Reaper looks like the cheapest possibility to carry either one, and might be a solid ship. He's 3 points less, and a single crew, so the question is whether either that second crew slot or 3 more points in the aces is actually better than having Palp.

So I don't really play X-Wing that much anymore, largely because life keeps me too busy, but aside from that the only ship I was ever any good with was Whisper and she's been pushed out of the meta.

I really do hope Krennic brings Whisper back into the meta but I think Biophysical here has it exactly right: are the 3 points plus Krennic actually valuable in the absence of Palp. QD is pretty insane, especially with Yorr.

Arguably, if Krennic is going to be played on Whisper he might just be along for the ride on Whisper anyway and play a 3 aces list, or maybe Cheerio+Whisper could do some work. I don't think that Whisper with KrennicOGP and probably Inquisitor is actually better than Yorr with Palp with QD and Quiz.

I'm looking at something like Whisper/ACD/Krennic/FCS/VI and Quiz with PTL/AT/x1 and putting those two alongside either Omega Leader with Optics and VI or maybe Pure Sabacc with Trick Shot, Title, LWF.

Krennic and gunner? I wonder if there's a way to combine them both so that you purposely miss, strip a shield, fire again, strip another shield with some more damage. Could be fun. Too bad it's 3 shields or less; it would fit perfectly well on a Decimator ;)

I think he is overpowered.

And I´ m not going to explain why! (Nod to the OP)

;)

Also makes a TLT aggressor stronger. You will never not have a blank or eyeball to remove when firing two TLT shots.

primary weapon only

Once per round

Primary weapon attack

Fun as it would be to double a TLT damage output v the Ghost...

rules oops

at least on first shot it works for stripping shields

That's... expensive... but not a bad shout, actually. Especially combined with Fire Control System.

It won't work against low agility ships, but against high agility you can force the miss, strip a shield, then shoot again with full mods.

10 points, two crew slots all to grab one guaranteed shield per round of firing and a shield mod? Would rather have Palp at 8 and be able to pick what I use it for.

This is the wave that finally brings glory to the OT, right? So what if the last line of text... is "add the boost icon to your action bar"?

I know, I can dream, but even without that I feel like RAC/Vader might be a thing.

That would be 8pts of upgrade AND a new kind of "unavoidable attack" for 5pts in a crew slot that doesnt have to go on the ship its buffing.

Theres no possible way that'd happen lol. FFG aint that stupid.

Yeah, but Shield Upgrade and Engine Upgrade (on small ships) are both recognised as overpriced, and the listbuilding constraint is pretty annoying. It's also not that great on anything other than Vader, since the ships either already have boost or can't use it that effectively.

Defenders would LOVE boost, they dont take it because they are expensive as it is and its not a must-have like it is on vader.
Strikers too. Ive put boost on Strikers and they move like crazy, but the pricetag...ouch...

Indeed. They're a joy to use but giving up lightweight frame hurts too.

Engine Upgrade Duchess just takes the proverbial in furballs, though.

I mean, we got TLT, Sabine, and Nym. Don't put it past them.

Engine Upgrade on TIE/Ds is really something else.

what about double edge? fire primary first, pay one hit/crit to strip a shield and hopefully miss the shot ans tlt afterwards

First shot has to be a secondary weapon. The second shot can be anything. We were soooo close to making him not totally suck.

well yes, at the end of the day it all comes down to individual choice and playstyle.

Also.....OMG after years of lurking on the forum, FTS Gecko replies to one of my posts!!! (embarassing fangasm follows......)

I think he is well costed at 5 points. he is a shield upgrade that would normally cost 4, he has the extra bonus of stripping a shield, even if you blank your rolls. But there also may be a kicker that hasn't been revealed yet. The stripping of a shield is a decent addition, but can also have 0 effect against a lot of ships, especially mid game.

I like that he can bring back ships like maybe a Shield Upgraded Soontir. This Optimisation Condition plus a shield upgrade can give the Baron 2 shields which makes him not so vulnerable to bombs anymore.
Or you can go with what a lot of people have already thought and stick it on Vader or a Defender.

Yeah, as a mostly casual/Hotac player I tend to up against a lot of A-wings and B-wings, being able to strip extra shields off seems like a good thing to me ....
