The main problem are harpoon missiles. They really mess this list up.

Looks like we had the same idea here. Harpoons are gonna screw TIE swarms over regardless, but the Death Troopers atleast gets the users stressed, so it might help make the matchup slightly less unwinnable. Plus if the shuttle survives the first volley of a NuNuNuQD, QD is going to be annoyed that she can end up eating 2 Stress tokens every time she tries to use her ability.

Don't the Nymranda builds hucking bombs with Trajectory Simulator break any TIE swarm to pieces too?

If you get snagged by a trajsim bomb now that genius doesnt work with it, thats your own bloody fault.

Harpoons are the main problem.

i think the fact that the troopers are a 2slot crew kinda kills their potential. I'd rather them be a 3pt 1slot. Whatever they go in wont be doing anything other than lucky red dice

Indeed. Strictly speaking it happens after you pay any 'spend XYZ to perform this attack' costs - so the stress will be in play to turn off expertise and opportunist, but wouldn't interfere with anything triggering off 'spend your target lock to perform this attack'.
