Tie d and blinded pilot

By Storgar, in X-Wing Rules Questions

If the pilot is blinded so can’t fire. He misses the cannon shot but can he then fire his primary.

the card says after firing a cannon ... you may perform a primary weapon attack.

anyone able to answer, nothing specific I can find in faq.

edit

original damage deck I would say yes as roll no dice

tfa no as do not perform attack.

Depends on the deck you're using.

If you're using the original core damage deck, you roll 0 dice for the cannon shot, then having attacked with the cannon, do a normal primary. But, if you don't have a target, you don't clear it at all.

If you're using the TFA damage deck, you skip your opportunity to attack entirely, so you don't make any attacks at all this round. But, you clear it regardless of whether you have something to shoot or not.

Not exactly, effect that give you two attack opportunity in a round still work... (Quickdraw, Dengar, Ghost title)

None of which are available to a TIE/D, which is what the question was about.

(OK, so it could take Snap Shot, but still)

You are correct. You have to make an attack with a cannon for that combo to work but the crit prevents that from happening. Snap Shot could be used to clear the crit before you attack, but would you might need a little luck for that to happen.

Actually Snap Shot clears the crit any time any enemy ship executes a maneuver (As its an opportunity to attack) even it doesn’t land at Range 1 (No target for the opportunity)

True, I was alluding to saying you would need some luck to get that done before the attack phase next round, but totally missed how snap shot can work anytime. Nice!

Its a fun little interaction. Too much time with Snap Shot Rhymer has led me to really like that EPT.

Oh that is a awesome combo... might have to give that try!

Snap shot Rhymer shuttle with Jade and Tactician, 1-2 stress and shots covered... really fun in theory, in practice, I don't know yet...
