Before pitchforks on the small base ship for the large base price, hear me out.

I am so, so, SO excited for the TIE Reaper! But even I balk at the inclusion of 2 copies of Systems Officer. Must be some decent greens on that ship if that's the case. I guess some people didn't buy Imperial Veterans?

Decoy, though, now that's interesting. I think there's going to be something tricky with the TIE Reaper and Decoy. Fingers crossed.

I also thought of the fact that if you put TIE engine mk 2 on a reaper you could execute 2 green maneuvers in one turn using advanced ailerons, potentially dishing up loads of target locks without even using your action.

I think people give Disney far to much credit when it comes to X-Wing. They don't care about the FAQ, they don't care about ship abilities, and they sure as **** don't care about scale.

Do not underestimate LFL's ability to interfere. With Decipher, I know they imposed Episode I content onto SWCCG. As well as certain design impositions (ie make Maul have more power than Vader). With WOTC, I know at least one piece in the SWM game had one of his initial designs vetoed by LFL, a 100 pt Thrawn (in a game that ran 100 or 200 pts in a game).

Disney didn't know how large the ship was? Disney didn't know that it was going to fire missiles in a critical scene in the movie? Disney will license the IP to just about anybody as long as they fall in line with whatever marketing push Disney is running at the time.

Disney most likely sent what they thought was accurate at the time.

FFG had to have the ship designed and produced long before the movie was finished/released things like the ship size and that missile shot are all done as CGI in post-processing. Disney most likely gave FFG what the new at the time, once the molds in China are produced you can no longer cost-effectively change the size of the ship, once the ship is designed you can no longer easily and cost-effectively go back and re-design/ test it.

I don't think you have any clue how long the lead in time is to make an X-wing ship, or how many times parts of movies change before the final edit.

I know how much lead time ffg is working with. I just find it odd that literally every othe manufacturer was on the same page, save for ffg.

Maybe I would be less grumpy if it was at least a competitive ship, even if it was still ridiculously oversized and over priced.

all ties in game have 1 engine with 2 thrusters, same as the raider. none are "twin" ion engines

No, they don't. They have a solar ionisation reactor and two engines.

Except the TIE Defender and TIE Phantom, those have 3 engines. And the TIE Mk2 card, where the artist doesn't know what the central port is and thinks it's an engine.

Twin Ion Engines, Triple Ion Engines, and even Tetra Ion Engines perfectly fit the TIE acronym.

Yup. Bombers have four in two sets of two.

And then there's the Ten Ion Engine Punisher.
