PSA: C-3PO does not work on rerolls

By skotothalamos, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I just watched a top-16 stream of a guy running Rey with Finn and C-3PO and he kept rolling his one defense die, then placing his Finn die, then calling 3PO on the reroll. It's a good way to make top 16 if no one's paying attention, but C-3PO only works on rolls, not rerolls. Not really a question, but it seems some folks might need this information, since neither his opponent, the streamer, or the table judge seemed to care.

This is literally in the FAQ, he shouldn't be able to do that.

before you roll you declare c3p0....

you roll defence, add finn dice, rerolls if possible at all, results... gambled or not?

c3p0 CC doesn't let you reroll imo.... if you were to reroll from some other means, and then use c3p0...;sounds wrong.

Because it is wrong.

It's literally in the FAQ that C-£PO only works on the initial roll, not on rerolls.

Maybe read it before you answer questions in this forum section. Especially ones that have already been answered.

don't need to, mostly correct gutfeelings =)

And any shred of credibility suddenly vanishes...

But I had a gutfeeling that was going to happen.

common sence prevails .... when there is no urge to win

Common sense is a myth for the foolish and ignorant.

No one is going to take you seriously if you answer questions based on a gut feeling.

And although it's called "common sense", sometimes it's not that common. Especially when some of FFG's rule interactions completely defy common sense.

Yikes. Maybe I'll ask my question in a different subforum...

Good to know. I found the answer to my question in the Epic subforum, but I'll be back if I have questions about standard play. Thanks!
