LEGO supplements to Arkham Horror

By rwinder, in Fan Creations

I'm new to this forum, though a big fan of Arkham Horror, probably my favorite board game, for a few years now. I've been a fan of the LEGO bricks for some considerable time too, and it occurred to me that they could be used to supplement a big game like Arkham quite well.

I originally made a large rack for Arkham about a year or so ago that could hold all the cards and cardboard chits, and that turned out to be very useful for set-up and during play. Perhaps one day, I'll try to make a storage container to pack it away in as well, but that will be a much bigger challenge.

Recently I also stared making dice towers for the game. I am up to two now, but I have a few more ideas I'll likely try out. Though I am quite curious if anyone has suggestions for dice tower themes for Arkham that I might challenge myself with.

The images are up on boardgamegeek.com, see the link below. I hope you'll find these interesting. I always enjoy seeing other creations people have made for the game so I figured people would like these.

I like the Ancient One house the best :') it looks so cozy.

The LEGO card and chit rack is pure genius! Wanna build one too... ::laughing::

can you give me a price or give me insructions

You can find them on the BOardgamegeeks website.

Unfortunately, I typically build without any plan in advance, so there's no easy instructions for making these. I can say that the card rack would be quite expensive simply based on the number of bricks you need (unless you already have a large supply). I created half of it in Lego Digital Designer out of curiosity and when I received a price quote from lego it was close to $300. Now, that's an over-inflated price since there are better avenues to buy bricks from at a cheaper rate.

As for the dice towers, I am hoping to make a simple one at some point that I will provide some instruction for that is not too involved so it can be explained easily, but even then I'd prefer to have it buildable from a single set so people who don't have bricks on hand can go out and buy one set to make it, so that complicates the matter.

If someone is really interested in this, they could use your lego design to make the holders out of foamcore or cardboard....

Should be simple enough to do, although I find it cheaper and easier to just buy those large business card holders to hold all the location cards, your design incorporates some nice chit holders and stuff.

Indeed, there are a lot of options people have tried. I made a geeklist at the BGG site about it a while back: http://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/38929/the-horror-of-storing-and-managing-arkham

An update for those interested in the LEGO dice towers, my third effort: boardgamegeek.com/image/723834/arkham-horror

The next one I'm planning right now will probably be much bigger than these so far.

Very cool :') keep posting pictures.
