That's been the case since TFA was released - the different subfactions were identified then, the distinction has just only recently been used.

I'd expect to see an erratum published shortly before release essentially listing all the T65 pilots and changing their ship name to T65 X-Wing.

I'd be 99% sure that the small/large ship Jam will simply be different to the Epic version, the same way small/large base Reinforce is. There's no rules card because this is a boxed expansion, it'll be in the rulebook.
