Imperial Assault Video: Quantity vs Quality? Who Wins?

By Rogue Dakotan, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Howdy.

Most of you probably know I have a big thread of Imperial Assault Skirmish videos in the Skirmish subforum on here, but I wanted to drop my newest video on the front page here in case people don't usually visit the Skirmish sub forum in the chance they might find something they like here.

Thanks

If you're into Death Star Escapes...

Also I don't think I have the command list anymore... Sorry. My shuffle really screwed me over. I know On The Lam was near the bottom of my deck...

Good video. Card draw and rolls had such a big influence on this one. But, that's sort of the thing isn't it. If you only have 4 in your crew, every roll matters!

I'd love to see the Stormtrooper Swarm vs actual meta lists, e.g. vs. your Han list from your regionals report.

And to make it more realistic, I'd add Zillo and RbF to the Empire.

I think the Officers, the rJets, the rRiots and the rStormtroopers all performed quite well, the rSentries not so much.

RbF, Zillo, 4 Officers, 2 rStormtroopers, 2 rJets, 2 rRiots? (18 figures - 62 health)

RbF, Zillo, 4 Officers, 3 rStormtroopers, 3 rJets? (19 figures - 57 health)

I think you'd have a lot better luck with the quality list if you ran Jedi Luke instead of farmboy. that ping damage is going to stack up against weakling troopers. Son of Skywalker is a decent card for farmboy luke, but not the game changer it is with the Jedi version.

12- Jedi Luke
11- Chewbaaca w/Wookie Avenger
10- Han w/Rogue Smuggler
7- Obi-wan Kenobi

That was an interesting match to watch! We don't really min-max our forcelists and just go for fun, so we rarely have more than 10 models each, and often have only 4 to 7. I always wondered how it would play out with such a huge activation discrepancy.

Oddly, I feel like the Wookie Avenger card hurts Chewie more than it helps. The free slam is great but my brother is an expert at rolling that X, so it's a really tough decision for him even with the point drop. That may just be from our skewed experience where he is always the last model standing though.

Yeah I almost feel like just gimme the point reduction and I'll keep Chewie the way he is. I really wish I could keep the dodge, and protector. And as we saw, having Debts Repaid in my hand was just adding insult to injury the whole time :P

Glad you enjoyed it!
