Just finished reading Aftermath and am craving something new like the Halo, not more reprints :/
New preview: save the dream
I don't care about the price tag. I've been calling for the Reaper for almost two years, and I already have two on preorder.

I already got 4 Saw Specials on PreOrder XD
At least the U-wing is really easy to store. Can you imagine trying to find space for two extra YV-666's that you don't really need?
well... my wallet is crying. I pre-ordered 3 Saw's and 1 reaper....

That's a lot of U-Wings...

Yours is crying? Mine is on suicide watch!
I preordered one of each the same day I bought Armada. Like, ALL of Armada...

5 of them... waiting for my next Epic game.
5 U-Wings, GR75, and a ghost or two.

Euros are more heavy on mechanics and low, frontloaded randomisation, often at the expense of story, whereas ameritrash are heavier on flavour and story, lighter on mechanics, and heavier on randomisation making decisions as opposed to informing them.
The standard comparison would be something like Agricola which as almost no randomness except in the setup, but comparatively little story, versus something like Betrayal at the House on the Hill which is high on story, low on balance, and heavy on random outcomes.
X Wing tends more ameritrash, but has euro-y elements, and the distinction doesn't really work for tabletop wargames and RPGs that well anyway.
Agreed, X-Wing is definitely Ameritrash and I love it. Ameritrash CAN be balanced, but not at the expense of flavor. Another classic Ameritrash is Fortress America!
Folks, we currently have a wave with 2 ships in it. Following a wave with two ships in it. Granted, last wave was really a five ship super-wave and the odds of this wave not getting a third bonus ship for scum in this wave are practically zero but really X-wing is either getting more affordable or at least at a plateau which is pretty encouraging really.
I'm not getting too bent out of shape about the $30 small bases yet because I have no intention of buying more than one of anything other than the Gunboat from the last maybe 4 waves.
Whats the ETA for this wave to be in stores? If its around May, I'm thinking they may add a couple more ship from the Solo movie to this wave.

And don't forget the Aces box as a part of the wave. Earlier they would dig up some obscure scum monstrosity to have three ships, then add Solo ship/s on top of that, and then release the aces between waves as an extra.
I like the slower approach, hopefully it's the new norm and not an exception because they ran out of time due to the shorter break between the movies.

You really think so? They are Rebel extremists, but they are still Rebels. There is more than one Rebel faction. That’s why it’s sometimes hard for them to coordinate with one another.
i love this Wave. Can’t wait for it. Will it be out for GenCon (August)? Before?
i would be shocked if it took us all the way to August to get these ships.
Thats 6 months away.....

SMDH, man. Ya'll are FFGs golden goose.
You must not play any games made by Wizkids then. Attack Wing is so bad that the generic versions of most ships are power creeped out of consideration on release day.
This week a new Heroclix set dropped which features the X-Men. I’m embarrassed to tell you how many versions of Cyclops, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Beast, Magneto, And Emma Frost I have now...

Yeah, I guess you’re right. Probably a later wave will be pre-released there. Thanks. I’m looking forward to these partisans!

Saw was kicked out of the club for excessive violence.
His partisans are more organized than bounty hunters and pirates, maybe.
A pretty good analog to Hutt forces or ruthless Crime Syndicates in terms of bloodthirstiness.
Definitely the dark side of the lower case "r" rebellion.
As I consider Imperials to be clean bad guys and Scum to be dirty bad guys, the partisans might be called dirty "not-quite-good" guys.

If you watch Rebels , you will see that Saw actively undercut Mon Mothma's leadership and was attempting to pull away any warriors he could from her Alliance. After realizing he was not going to get Sabine and Ezra's loyalty, he stunned them both.
While both factions fight against the Empire, they are certainly no longer on the same side.
I don't mind him being assigned to the Rebel faction in this game, but I do think there is a strong argument for his people being S&V. I do not see him having any desire to rebuild the Republic, just tear down the Empire.

That's part of why I'm even more certain we're getting a Scum Corvette announced in the next two weeks. Maybe even with a generic Aggressor pilot and a new double-cannon upgrade?
I was looking at Deathtroopers on my TIE reaper, supported by 4x Imperial Trainee strikers, and I was trying to figure out how I could get my opponents to shoot my strikers instead of my reaper. I realized that a good strategy will be to put the TIE reaper in blocking position, preferably at range 1 so that it can Jam*. Now the TIE reaper is touching the opposing ship and in its arc, so the TIE reaper is not a valid target, and will likely get stressed...except that the other targets need to be at range 1 of the TIE reaper, which can be tough. Granted, it's probably easier in this squad with 4 other friendlies than maybe a 3-ship squad, but I'm not sure Deathtroopers will be the way to go for such low-PS, high ship count squad.
*The way it says "nearby ships" in the article, indicates to me that it's likely restricted to Range 1. I'll brace myself for that, and if it's a wider area of effect, all the better.

I definitely think he should be rebel aligned, but I kinda wish they had taken this opportunity to make them an additional rebel sub-faction. They were kinda forced to add that mechanic with TFA, but now that it’s there I would rather see them do something with it.

The only problem I see with that is I'm not sure how much more the Partisans are gonna grow beyond Rogue One and a few Rebels episodes, which means a handful of characters and maybe three ships. In contrast, the Resistance is being built up over three movies and have at least one comic book in that era, thus have a wider pool to draw on.

You are clearly confused... the rebellion, scum, syndicates, and pirates are all dirty bad guys.
The Bounty Hunters are at least effective in doing sometimes dirty work for the empire.
The Empire are the good guys. Don't let those rebel propaganda films fool you.

Well, Rebel mirror matches can be seen as different groups like partisans, etc. having a bit of a disagreement.

He is definately Rebel faction (he has the same goals and uses the same gear and has many of the same connections), but IMO there was potential to inject some more Scum style gear and fighting style into them, since S&V type groups are where they'd have to turn to for supplies and intel after leaving the main rebel alliance.
guess we'll see how scummy the Partisans are in this set.
