A new half points proposal

Large base: Stays the same. Half points at half health.

Small base: half points when a ship suffers four damage. Non-regen ships are simple math. Regen ships need damage counters to place on card to keep track of damage suffered. Regen does NOT remove the counters.

Why? Limits the impact of small base point fortresses without punishing Tie Fighters or Z95's. Prevents regen point fortresses from never giving up points.

Maybe five damage but four seems like a sweet spot for me.

Doing this is going to hurt non-point fortress small base ships like TIE/sf, TIE Defenders, TIE Punishers (keep on kicking it while its down why don't yea), TIE Bombers, TIE Aggressors, and Gunboats (from the imperial side).

Interesting. But I said this in the other thread: should be hull+shields of 9 or more equal half points and large based ships. (Stats and info are there)

All this small base half point non-sense is addressing the symptom of the problem, which is running away to conserve Mov. You know what guarantees victory even if your opponent high tails it? Meaningful (points wise) objectives.

but of course ffg will probably go with your idea because it’s an excuse to print moar tokens! ;)

I'm personally a fan of half points for any ship that can fire at range 3 outside of it's primary firing arc, making all TLT carriers, turrets and ships with other arcs all fall under the current half point rule. If you can not point at your enemy and even be running away while still being effective, you should be worth half points.

Regen also needs to be addressed and I haven't settled on an idea but I think I like tracking damage.
