Warriors rejoice

By SithArissa, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Or, you know, we could drop the silly debates over canon-minutiae and get back to talking about Knights of Fate ?

While obviously he couldn't give me any details, my friend who did a lot of the recent articles has told me he wrote the Knights of Fate articles as well, so assuming he did the same number as normal, I'm very surprised that none of them were posted before the release...

Well Vader is a warrior so he is partly relevant!

Maybe they will release all at once @Absol197 or it's gonna be one really long post.

That would be funny!

Come to think of it, I don't know if he's even paid for articles he writes, or if he was doing it on a volunteer basis.

Probably the latter, but if he was paid, it's even stranger that they didn't post them...

Yaaaaaaawn! I do "films only canon" and regard all the rest of it apochryphal. The Mouse may say its all canon now, but The Mouse doesn't get to tell me jack about what I do and don't like or use or include in my lifelong fandom. For them its all a marketing cash grab. The Mouse has neither art nor passion. I grew up on the OT, tolerated the PT, and have found the new trilogy films to date hyper-frenetic-kinetic and, for the most part, not particuliarly good cinema, though enjoyable as popcorn films. From a film criticism perspective, Solo is better than either of them. Film Vader is as I said he was, and you even agreed with that, so let it go. I'm into Star Wars as films because that's their native media as well as being the medium I consume Star Wars in. Comic? Video Games? Cartoons? If that's how you consume Star Wars then more power to you and have at it! But, for those of use who relate to Star Wars as a a coherent and concise cinema-experience that does nothing. After all, I can't afford the mass-marketed cross-platform Disney Star Wars. I work for a living!

You do realise that while the "mouse" might have say on who runs Lucasfilm it is Lucasfilm that run themselves and decide on everything else

But that doesn’t play into the whole, “But teh Diznee is evuls and wants to distroy muh (Ster Werz/Merbel Comixes/childhood/adulthood/personhood) cuz they’re evuls!!” narrative that a lot of otherwise bright and level-headed people insist on subscribing to.

In this narrative, LFL operating under Disney ownership exactly the same way they did as an independent company is proof positive of Disney’s soulless corporate greed. Star Wars as a multimedia and merchandise franchise before the Disney purchase? No problem. Star Wars as a multimedia and merchandise franchise after the Disney purchase? A mercenary cash grab.

With all of their past and present imprints, such as Touchstone, Miramax, even Marvel and LFL, Disney’s done a pretty good job of just getting out of the way and letting the subsidiary studios do what they already know how to do. That doesn’t mean their output will always resonate with every audience member, though. And for some, their views of Disney will color their reactions to anything put out by a studio that they know is owned by Disney. Not saying that’s a good or bad thing...just that it’s a thing.

And now, back to Knights of Fate talk....

Just to keep it off topic for a bit longer some people wish GL stayed on board for the new films have seen his recent ideas for doing a trilogy diving into the microbiome of the force , I'm glad that he sold to Disney, if I hear the word midichlorian it sets my teeth on edge

Someone's got to get this soon, right?

... Right?

Come on, who's our spoiler!

I got excited when I loaded up the news and saw an image of Luke, then saw the title and saw it was for the dice game.

Technically, it was the woman flirting with the Dowutin who informed the First Order.

What's a Phydolon? I actually recognize both the other (obscure) species, but Phydolon is drawing a complete blank and Wookieepedia doesn't even have a single result for it.

Colossus is my Juggernaut, I am truly happy!

Blast, was really hoping this book was going to be the Echani book.

I know who you're talking about, and they are Mikkians .

Juyo Berserker and Colossus I love it I have my cake and can eat it too!

These just seem like odd choices of races for the Warrior book. Putting aside my personal preferences, but how did these ones get picked over notable warrior races like the Noghri, Nagi, Shark folks introduced in Clone Wars, **** even the raptor race from the old books. I think the only thing more surprising would have been if they put the Kushiban in this book.

Specialization: Steel Hand Adept

unarmed and Dangerous! Seriously, a monk build!!! **** yes.

Unique Talents:

Iron Body - Remove Setback per Rank from Coordination and Resilience Checks. Also, decrease Crit of unarmed attacks by one. (I know this isn’t unique to this book but there are 2 Ranks here, that’s huge considering now you can get substantial stacks... 4 I think?)

Acklay’s Scything Strike: Brawl Attacks gain Pierce equal to Force Rating. Yup.

Unarmed Parry: As it says but also reduces strain to unarmed Parry by 1 per Rank.

Improved Dodge: After using Dodge can make a move maneuver as an out of turn incidental.

Far Strike: Brawl attack as ranged, adding Force points up to Force Rating. Increase range by each point spent.

Sapith Sundering: May add force dice up to Force Rating to Brawl Checks. Attacks gain sunder quality and may spent force points generated as Advantage to activate sundering.

I was kind of hoping for the Kage myself.

Sorry, got confused which one you were asking about.

Phydolon look like the bird species from Mass Effect. Their description could more easily read for the Mikkians.

****, nice! Thanks for giving us previews man!

Thanks Khazadune! Do they all have the Force Rating Talent? Does Juyo have Reflect?
