Warriors rejoice

By SithArissa, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I just really hope they give us a Jedi martial artist tree. Would be nice to have a warrior tree that's good at punching people and has some nice brawl related talents.

Well, we kinda got that already with the Warden in Keeping the Peace, though more for the Guardian career. It may not have had the sort of kung fu talents that the Martial Artist spec in No Disintegrations had, but it's still an effective unarmed combatant.

Well, it's time for Warriors to truly rejoice, because your book is Shipping Now as of this morning! Release date of June 21!

I'll admit to being confused, seeing as we didn't even get any preview articles, but I'm not going to complain about more books more sooner!

EDIT: Happy now, @Shlambate :D ?

Fun fact: With this new release date, Knights of Fate has officially become the second-fastest release of a Force and Destiny book to-date, its 129 days only being beaten by Endless Vigil 's 107 days.

Well maybe FFG got my message.

To quote a famous Orc

"I can wait no longer!

What? Seriously? That's fantastic :D

Maybe they'll give us an article this week then?

Sigh it evaded my fleet of Pirates...

I am very disappointed in them.

Well, lets speculate. We know we get Vaapad but have no other ideas what kind of specializations will be in the book.

I can see Juyo as a second lightsaber form (giving warrior a total of 5 in class force points possible) and making Vapaad a signature ability. I do think a Teras Kasi spec would be awesome. I know we can have so many crafting specs but maybe if they angle it the right way, weapon master, could be an interesting spec.

What do you think the specs will be?

I want a Juggernaut tree that gives the party a tank, makes the Warrior tough to kill but also gives him a good deal of offense at the same time. He tanks differently from the Guardian, the Guardian protects by keeping you from harm, the warrior protects by kicking the enemies butts!

Here's what I want: a warrior who doesn't have to go outside his career to deflect blaster bolts with his saber.

Really, that's it. I like the aggressor and shii-cho specs just fine.

A hybrid saber tree with some force talents, reflect, and another force rating bump would be dreamy.

Warden is more of a control and deescalate the fight kind of thing though. I'm hoping for a spec that aims to finish the fight and leave the opponent spitting teeth on the ground.

Ack

Nah, that one's on me. I sent them fake information on what ships to attack.

I'd like Vapaad to have Reflect, and a Juggernaut spec. Other than that I'm not fussy :P

So Cyphers and Masks has to be next.... right????

Maybe, maybe not depends on the boats and how fickle they feel.

Probably. It surprised me that it seemed to cut in line ahead of Cyphers and Masks. But, looking at the timeline, it looks like it’s just plain being released on schedule, instead of being held for Cyphers to be released.

The "Tank" is pretty well covered with the Guardian, particularly the Soresu Defender , Protector , and Armorer specs.

yeah I would rather see Jarkai instead. Warrior seems to be the DPS spec.

Hoping the fact that they put a picture of a two weapon fighter on the cover we will see Jarkai even if its just a technique inside a specialization and not one itself

I had look up what Jar'kai was but I agree, a two weapon style along the lines of gunslinger for Melee/Lightsaber would be great!

That's more of mitigation and control. Warrior should have the tank that is a big bastard who can take a bastard of a beating and then dish it out. Punching people in the rooster and taking names, stomping groins and smashing faces.

I disagree. Given that it's a "lightsaber" spec, the Armorer, in particular, is designed to be a serious bruiser and can, with its Armor Master talent suite (including the Improved and Supreme versions), can take as much damage, (or more) than it can dish out. It's about as "tank" as you can get. I'd call it the very definition of a "tank" character for Force users.
