Warriors rejoice

A completely dedicated Brawl character is really missing from the system, so theresmy prediction, the third spec will be some blend of Martial Artist with some force talent coolness mixed in.

I really hope so, Ashoka's parry of the seventh sisters lightsaber with her hands so was sweet but it looked very forcey at the same time.

I don't think Sentinel fits Anakin as well as Warrior, Anakin isn't sneaky at all. He has high cunning brawn and will. From his wooing of Padme we can all say his presence is a 1.

Yeah... I however do not think, that as the Artisan / Racer / Shien Expert that he clearly seems to be, needs to be sneaky at all. Sentry kinda also suits him. Who ever said, that Sentinel equals sneaky? But as I already pointed out, it is more for sport than anything to try and force characters like that into a system like this.

In other matters:
For the martial arts spec of the warrior I would somewhat expect Teräs Käsi to pop up.

I mentioned this in the EOTE forum, but this is my best guess on what that species is. (Frenk, from The Clone Wars.)

Ashoka I think is a poster girl for Sentinels, she was more cunning than others during the clone wars, and learned a lot in that episode where she loses her saber, uses Shien's fighting style and once you see her in Rebels, she's pretty much doing what a Sentinel is described as doing full time.

I'm as excited for this book as I was for the Sentinel one, which was light on crunchy bits that mattered to me personally. Hoping one of those specs is a dual wield tree.

I think it is a mistake to try and distill these characters to 1 spec. I see anakin as having warrior aggressor, shien, starfighter ace, Shii cho. possibly a little racer. Or more likely hotshot. He seems to do a lot of triumphs and despairs. He totally has showboat. The jedi seem to be proficient with multiple lightsaber forms. These characters are very very high xp.

I built my Vader with over 5,000 XP, over 3,000 of that was Anakin. And yeah, he's got bits from a very wide variety of trees.

Or Genesys characters where they can simply pick and choose the right talents for them. They still have massive xp levels but none of the Specialisation silliness

I would be more excited but... I'm still waiting for the other 3-4 Star Wars books to come out. Everything's been halted thanks to L5R, SW Legion and Legacies. So... I'm looking forward to this in December 2019?

Actually all of those were delayed also the delay on the entirety of the FFG catalogue was most likely due to the shipping company that went bust (probably with a load of FFG cargo on board. Star wars legion was a Q4 release iirc and ended up being March 22nd .Runewars products were also severely delayed , however the SW RPG line had a load of new books on the boat when the shipping line hit ita major problems as far as I know which means that a load of books got majorly delayed. The shipping line was blocked entry into ports because the ports feared non payment. If they docked, the boats and goods would have been impounded, and they quite probably had multiple shipments at various stages en route.

That would be because it has been forever since they announced a new book... let alone one you worked on.

I know you can't, but any hints about it? That was probably the worst announcement article ever... only because it really didn't give anything away!

I think the third spec will be... strange and a little off the wall-ish... Not entirely related to war or fighting... medic maybe... trainer maybe? Something ecen a little farther than that?

I could only give you hints if I never ever wanted to write for FFG again? And, you know, risk no one else wanting to bring me in on any project ever again either? But it's always fun to watch you all guess and speculate!

Awesome. Great. Fantastic. Someone has finally referenced that as likely, but not as gospel... since we still have not been told by ffg or anyone else in authority to disclose that info what really happened... Just hypothesis and guess is all we have to go on... sorry for the derailleur.

Tbh I knew you couldn't but never really considered the ramifications if you did. Well. In any case, I can't wait to see what you and the others did with this book. I'm sure the book is better than the article.

Ahsoka on the cover?
Anakin would be so much more fitting. Or even Mace Windu.

Now Ahsoka is for sure the best marking choice they could make, because she might be the most beloved character of the whole franchise and RIGHTFULLY SO. Still, I am looking forward to the tree in this book which fits to her, because certainly neither Aggressor, Starfighter Ace, Shii-Cho nor Vaapad fit. Meanwhile all three original specs fit perfectly to Anakin. Now she still might have a warrior heart, but Sentinel and Councular fit as well, not only because she seems to use Shien, Jar'Kai and Aturu mix and makes quite the diplomat as well. Arbiter style ;-)

So if they have Ahsoka on the cover, I totally expect to seem something fitting into that direction in the book, which actually makes me happy, because that is something the warrior career was severely lacking. High expectations on this one which always leads to disappointment, especially with FFG. ;-)

It's a shame that you are a freelancer, because I totally would love sign a NDA and discuss with you at which points you screwed up. :P
But as a freelancer you are not really in a position to make this happen. :P

You know, there's Luke on the cover of the Sentinel book ... :P

Mace would have been fitting - but as it's still the GCW era, he's dead.

As to Anakin - he'd need a new career: Whiner.

And Luke is still not loved as much as Ahsoka :P

I beg to differ the main hero of Star Wars is pretty likeable.

Yeah, I totally give him a good 3rd place. Just behind Ahsoka and Vader. :P
Don't underestimate the power of love from star wars fanatics. Han, Vader and Luke might be more popular, but Ahsoka is still the most beloved character in the franchise. :P

Well I think R2-D2 is pretty likeable and as they are the main hero all is good!!!

Luke's popularity aside, Mark Hamill wins over them all.

I know! That time Mark was playing the evil father ruling a dictatorial, expansionist empire trying to convince his son to abandon the path of good (that his wise, elderly mentor set him on) to join the side of evil?

That's one of my favorite scenes ever!

I guess I am in the minority, but I'm kinda bummed they are wasting a spec on Vaapad...a lightsaber form practiced by like 3 people ever who are all dead. It's one of those dumb EU things that should just be forgotten along with the rest of the stuff that basically let Jedi have their cake and eat it too with the darkside.

I'd rather have a Juyo spec, that might have a "Vaapad Technique" talent or something.

Vaapad and Juyo are the same thing. They were virtually indistinguishable in the EU (Vaapad was a variation, like Djem So was to Shien), and in the current canon they are simple alternate names for Form VII.

Agreed.
