I think it has legs (?), so unless they're doing a complete overhaul, it's unlikely that it is indeed a Sluissi.

Oh I didn't see legs...? I'm on my phone though, maybe better resolution is necessary :)

Surely they could have mentioned a bit more, right? Still looking forwards to this!

(Of topic: Am I the only one who would argue Anakin started as Sentinel: Racer/Artisan, learned shien [mostly left side - he was a master of Djem So], and later became more of an Aggressor? He was a Cunning warrior, not a Brawn warrior, after all! :P )

Darth Vader would very much be a Dark side Brawn Warrior though so it goes both ways.

Absolutely. He sure relied more on his Brawn in his later years.

Well 2 images of 2 characters dual wielding lightsabers, one on the cover, makes me hypothosize.

I think that's fair. Considering Ahsoka's schtick was dual-wielding, and she's on the cover, I think it's a reasonable speculation that they'll have some dual-wielding stuff in there. I've never been a huge fan of it, personally, but I'm pretty certain my daughter will be going for it! :)

Look for Knights of Fate (SWF46) in the second quarter of 2018....

...find it maybe first quarter of 2019?

Story-wise, I don't see it. Certainly he used Djem So, but that being the case I'd have his Brawn at least on par with his Cunning. But I don't consider character XP optimization for these kinds of things. I'd put him either at Guardian or Warrior based on personality and proclivities. It would make sense for him to start as a Racer, but I'd argue that that wasn't his specialization—he just had an inborn knack for high-speed racing thanks to his Force sensitivity (he starts with the Enhance power upgraded down to Piloting: Planetary) and a decent Agility score as a youngling. Being the Chosen One™, he would probably start with Knight Level XP and have a smattering of innate skills and abilities that mark him as a prodigy.

By my reckoning a Sentinel would be more like Barris Offee—concerned with justice, an aptitude for using criminal's tactics against them, but having her own code rather than blindly follow the laws of (a potentially corrupt) society.

I think FFG knows that if a massive delay happens again they're going to be in very hot water. I have a feeling this book was ready for announcement in November/December, but they waited to actually announce it until they could be sure it would get a typical development time.

At least, that's my hope...

So happy about this. I'm hoping for Cathar as a species in this.

I’m going to do a little analysis of my own, to see if something can be gleaned from what we have. It says in the article “three unique fighting styles” so Combat is on the cards. It also says fighting with the Force is important, well ?

1. Vapid, confirmed.

2. Dual Wield, hinted at, unconfirmed.

3. ?

So let’s break Warrior down a bit, see what we would have:

Shi Cho: Lightsaber/Melee

Vapid: Lightsaber/? Perception perhaps?

Dual Wield: Lightsaber/ possibly Melee, or even Ranged Light, Cool would be great here.

Pilot: Gunnery/Piloting/Mechanic

Aggressor: Coercion/Ranged Light/Tank

So what’s missing from the combat skills? Brawl and Ranged Heavy. Seeker covers Ranged Heavy really well. Warden can Brawl, but it’s not dedicated to it. A completely dedicated Brawl character is really missing from the system, so theresmy prediction, the third spec will be some blend of Martial Artist with some force talent coolness mixed in.

If I had to classify Ahsoka as one of the careers in F&D, I'd go with Warrior. Partly because that's how I see Anakin (he started as a Warrior: Starfighter Ace, duh! And Ben Kenobi's comment to Luke, that he was a "cunning warrior"), and partly just because of her personality. She just doesn't scream Sentinel to me. She's rough-and-tumble, aggressive, impetuous.

Just because she uses a "reverse shien" style in fighting, doesn't mean she needs to have the Shien Specialist talent tree, IMO. I'd peg her as a Warrior: Aggressor (right side) / Ataru Striker. Later in life she would have fleshed out more of the Aggressor tree.

And she could have dipped a bit in the Shien tree. I could see her as a warrior agressor, Shien, ataru.

That's a wrap on the career books finally. Been waiting ages on this one to be announced.

Now that we know they are putting more than one lightsaber specialization in source books I would have liked to have seen more about Djem So or a workable specialization/build for it. It seems an afterthought.

Oooo I worked on this one! I feel like it's been forever since they announced a new book I contributed to. Excited for fun stuff I wrote to get into everyone's hands!

I think it's just been forever since they announced a new book :) . Today was day 143, the new record by 1 day.

Fair analysis, though I would still consider Cunning one of his strongest characteristics. I just like that the racing/tinkering/djem so are all available within the sentinel career, though he certainly doesn't fit perfectly otherwise.

You would be right but can't see the Sluissi as great Warriors.

That would be because it has been forever since they announced a new book... let alone one you worked on.

I know you can't, but any hints about it? That was probably the worst announcement article ever... only because it really didn't give anything away!

I think the third spec will be... strange and a little off the wall-ish... Not entirely related to war or fighting... medic maybe... trainer maybe? Something ecen a little farther than that?

Yay Vapaad now people can stop whining about it.

I do like that the image of Mustafar that they use for the cover is titled "Where Jedi Go to Die."

Edited by Absol197

What’s the title of the other image?

Lightsaber Forms, I think. It wasn't as interesting so I didn't commit it to memory.

Both Ahsoka and Anakin would be Sentinels in my book. But if Anakin would go by the rules at all, he would still go beyond the scope of a career anyway.

I don't think Sentinel fits Anakin as well as Warrior, Anakin isn't sneaky at all. He has high cunning brawn and will. From his wooing of Padme we can all say his presence is a 1.
