It does look like Ghost-Fenn is not as hot anymore, simply because it gets into hard matchups again. though Copenhagen is missing. That double-win should be a solid boost for Ghost/Fenn again, meanwhile a semi-Final for another Palp Aces list.
OMG It's full of imperial aces (1/26/18 - 2/12/18 - Meta Wing)
I love how once the meta calms down a bit, the top list is always just four of the most recent Rebel ships all tossed together in a list.
And Fat Han #20? WHY?!?
So, what I take from this is just in the top ten there are: 19 different ships, at least one from each wave except 6 (most wanted) and 13, no TLT's or bombs in the top 3, the majority having an "arc matters" element, and a variety of control, offensive, and defensive strategies. I know people around here hate hearing this, but that's good. Right?

If you click on the 4-ship rebel squad, you'll find that the ACT Regionals @ Jolt appear to be counting 14 times (rather than 1), which is certainly skewing meta wing right now.

Not sure if this link works
I'm not surprised by this. At the Vancouver BC regional this weekend there were, I think, 3 total Ghost/Fenns at a tournament of around 110 people. And Vancouver is Ghost Country too. There were a LOT of Palp aces, however, as that's a good match-up against the Ghost.
In the link you sent, I only see Howard aces again at #3. And the rest of the top4 lists are all rebel scum. The 2nd place with Kimogila is kinda interesting though.
What on earth are you talking about?
Yeah, also this seems like its only taking results from Jolt... wdf? That's not a relevant large enough set of data?
Vancouver had a GENERIC QUADJUMPER in the Top 16.
I feel comfortable in saying that everything is chaos and madness right now.

As it should be.
Chaos is a ladder.

Is palp aces actually that good of a match vs Kanan Fenn? Doesn't feel like it should be.

They have the green dice and usually the mods to resist the Ghost's damage. Not always the hardest hitters, but enough that they can still push some through despite Kanan.
Are we crashing Meta wing?! I can’t get to the site.

That only happens every time a new wave gets released.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that list juggler or better Cryodex does not create a URI for each tournament to prevent multiple uploads of the same tournament. Though this happens on a regular base and is not uncommon, even when 14 instances of the same event are a little bit uncommon. ![]()

They not only have the green dice, but they as well have the mods from palpatine AND Palp aces are three ship lists, meanwhile Ghost-Fenn works best against two ship lists. So they do rather well in the damage race especially with Expertise quickdraw or token stackers or autothruster aces. Even x7 defenders can take a lot of TLT hits when compared to common two-ship lists and Soontir, Carnor and Inqui usually just take one hit per turn, if even that. And not hitting a TLT shot screws up Maul, because now you have to clear that stress without the re-rolls which leads often to not clearing it at all and ending up with being forced into green maneuvers or only using maul after you achieve to hit first … which reduces the Ghost damage further.

@sozin, not sure if you've been made aware of this yet.

It's pretty good. It can tank TLT shots for a lot longer than most lists and Palp is a great way to keep rolls modified even if Fenn is doing his thing. Kill Fenn quickly with palped crits and then the Ghost has a tough game.
That said, Ghost/Fenn did win the regional. But it was being flown by Chris Norris who in the last calendar year has won 2 regionals, a system open, and at least 2 store championships that I'm aware of. So it's an instance of a great player with a great list producing a great result.

For these, the best question becomes, why did they/you pick that list? If that motivation was not purely random/on a whim/fun.
I believe in all data points. If you're good enough to win a regional with Fel's wrath. its still a data point. Anomalous, but a win against a lot of opponents none the less.

Thanks yes l cleaned it up already in listjuggler bit sadly it had already been replicated into meta-wing. I chatted at @haslo today and he is going to clean up the dupes on his side tonight.
Cheers

IMHO.
List building is always an expression of the players personality. And on trait of successful players is efficiency, so you basically will find they all play efficient lists, but the details what kind of list they play often differs. I gonna bet that duncan howard for example plays his Palp Aces whenever he thinks they are efficient enough to win. Once you see him playing with a Ghost/Fenn list you know something is wrong with aces. ;-)
Even those player who are constantly switching list to the next most efficient expressing themselves that way.

I know why. But I don't think a lot of players understand this. Or understand "efficiency" either for that matter.

A perma-cloaked one! With a starviper too!

While I agree it tells you something, I hesitate to draw any strong conclusions about what it tells you. People will draw conclusions without nearly enough information and I know I'm no exception to that fact, so I try not to conclude much.
As a for-instance, I almost always take Ghost+1 lists to tournaments (usually Chopper). This whole weekend people were asking me why I didn't bring the Ghost, since it's the best it has ever been. I had considered it, but I never like flying whatever the hottest hotness is (and fully realize that will probably hold me back until I get over it). But if I had brought it, people might improperly conclude I'm a WAAC player, netlister, or just bad at writing my own lists. The truth would, in fact, be predominantly because I'm a Ghost enthusiast.

Those people are few and far between and you shouldn't care about what they are thinking because they are scrubs. Believe me constant whining of nerd herders on this forum got nothing to do with "real" X-Wing in material world - in my LGS for example we have explosion of new players, all of us play competetively, try meta lists and no one whines about some silly things that local forum nerd-herders whine. Vocal whining minority consists more often than not from armchair experts, they don't find the pleasure in this game, only satisfaction for them comes through constant whining.
