Rigged Cargo Chute vs Dash Rendar

By Boyd700, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hello all, I'm new to the game and would like to know how the rigged cargo chutes token would work when it is dropped on top of Dash Rendar before Dash has had a chance to become the active ship?

Would he be affected by the token as he hasn't activated yet or would he be immune to it because he can choose to not be affected?

I play with Dash Rendar a lot and would like to soon start playing at tournaments and clubs where this might happen.

Thanks

Martin

It's in the activation phase, so Dash can still choose to ignore the obstacle.

Dash's ability says he may ignore obstacles "during the activation phase". The "activation phase" is when ALL ships reveal dials and move. If his ability were meant to only apply when he activated it would say something like "when you become the active ship" instead.

So no, a rigged cargo chute will not affect Dash if someone with a lower pilot skill moves and drops the debris cloud on him.

However, if someone were to get an action during the combat phase and drop it then, that WOULD affect Dash. It's a highly unlikely edge case but it's possible.

It would be possible with Ahsoka Tano... I can't know of something else that would give an action during combat to another ship with an Illicit slot...

Airen Cracken.

Docked Phantom II too.

Dang, rebels have a lot of non-epic ways to get things done after all activations...

Even Roark gets to do things during the combat phase, but not Mux! So unfair.
