Beasts of war just uploaded an unboxing and gameplay video! I would be surprised if we don’t get a rule book this week!

They only really post the rule book on Launch usually. Sorry the burst the bubble. I would love to be wrong.
Bell of Lost Souls have also put videos up showing unboxings of the core set and all the wave 1 expansions.
Models look good, they aren't as big as I was expecting when people were saying primaris marine size. This is good as it meams all 28mm standard terrain will work fine.
Were people saying Primaris-sized? Thats crazy talk!
Yeah read it several places which said bigger than 28 and more like 32-35
These are about 30mm i believe.
Primaris are like...35mm+, they are waaaay bigger. (i actually think 35mm is still lower, i'm not at home right now so can't check).
These models were never going to be that sized, that was people being silly.
I assumed the rebel trooper would be virtually the same size as war 40k Imperial guard.
Was it not shown somewhere though that Vadar is almost 2 inches tall, maybe thats where the primaris size comparison was coming from?

That, and a size of 55mm for luke (i assume including lightsaber) that did the rounds.
The gaps on the assembled models are a bit full on. Is that just poor assembly or the models?
The spikey bits unboxing answers the question of what if there is no los to a non- squad leader mini. Turns out the leader dies and another dude is promoted.
Beasts of War also released a Let’s Play along with their boxing. Interested to see if they use the full rules with suppression etc or if it’ll be more of the same restricted demo rules.
Edit: Ugh I’m like five mins in and they’re already getting a bunch of stuff wrong

We can get a rule book without FFG posting it... With this many unboxings, someone may scan and leak it.

Its possible, but I would surmise this might violate any NDA's that FFG has put into place.

It'll still happen. It always happens, for pretty much all games. I reckon FFG has about 2 weeks before the rulebook is online in the less "legitimate" locations.
BoLS unboxing shows that the previously unknown third comms upgrade in the speeder bike expansion is an extra Comms Jammer card
Silly question but did anyone one go to the rules URL in the BoLS video?

Rules arent posted yet. I imagine they will be soon though. If you pause the videos you can pretty much screen cap all the rules pages

Probably, but unless they put watermarks on the physical copies of the rules that they sent out, how would they identify who uploaded the scan onto a third party, unaffiliated website?

True. But if you are a content provider who is getting preferential treatment and early access from a company that increases your visitors, are you willing to risk that relationship?
Some Screen grabs someone has posted. Here

Given how easy screen grabs are to get these days, showing pages at all is almost equivalent to posting a full scan. Plus, it doesn't have to be the content creator themselves, it could easily be a friend or acquaintance that gets their hands on the document. Yes, there is a certain amount of risk entailed, but unless the document is watermarked, there isn't really an easy way to trace the leak back to a specific creator.
I see that the rule set that comes with the core box is referred to as the learn to play booklet. I wonder if they will release an actual book down the road?
