Aemon's save ability when moribund

By FATMOUSE, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Can Maester Aemon (Core Set) only save himself when he is moribund, or can you use him to save another Night's Watch character instead? A situation where this might come up is if Valar Morghulis is revealed. I may want to keep another Night's Watch character around instead of Aemon.

Based on the rules and FAQ (and the Joffrey example), I'm very much leaning towards yes, but I'd really appreciate some confirmation or enlightenment on the issue. Thanks.

Well, technically, he's not moribund in the situation you're talking about. Valar initiates in Step 1, he saves in 2 (himself or Samwell for example) and goes moribund in step 3 (if he saved another character or his self-save gets cancelled.

Were there a situation where he is moribund _and_ had the opportunity to use his save during say the Step 5 Response window, it would be perfectly legal to do so, because his save does not involve him leaving play.

One of these days I'll master the timing windows...I am trying though! Thanks ktom.

Hilarious. I didn't give the answer and I am thanked for it! gran_risa.gif

On Luke's behalf, you're welcome. gui%C3%B1o.gif

Oh wow! I feel like a complete idiot. So sorry, Luke. For some reason I get your avatar and ktom's confused. I don't know why.

Again, really sorry. THANK YOU...LUKE!
